11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Hunger Games Swap rd 1 (SU through Jan 27th or we reach 24 send by Feb 24th) on: January 05, 2012 02:35:19 PM
SO tempting. I've only read the first book (in the middle of the second, now), and have two tiny terrors to chase after, so I'm not sure if this is something I can take on, but darn it if I don't want this to be my first swap. So many awesome ideas I'm having.

14  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Is Walmart getting rid of fabric?? on: June 28, 2010 08:05:16 AM
Our town's Walmart was recently re-done, and in the process the craft section was pretty much cut in half. I haven't heard anything about doing away with the fabrics altogether, although employees I've spoken to have said that they're only going to keep around "the most expensive". As of right now they're still getting the cheaper fabrics, but they're marking them down to $1 a yard so it's actually been awesome to check them out every week and see what new stuff they're getting rid of. I'll be sad if they do away with it completely; the JoAnn's here stinks.

What yarn did you use? I love the color. The pattern for the strap is really, really cool. And I love how it fits!

Too cool! I love the colors, the design, everything! Very pretty! I'd feel bad covering them up with a beverage! Smiley
19  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Patternless crochet doll, and ideas on how to dress her? on: January 01, 2010 07:45:53 AM
I'm pretty new to crocheting, so when I tried my hand at making a doll and my toddler flat-out rejected the thing, I was a little crushed. So I started the next doll with no desire to please anyone but myself, using no pattern. First time I've ever whipped something up with no instructions whatsoever, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I wish I'd made it pose-able, so a little sad about that. I'm trying to figure out how to dress it, now. Should I sew the clothes? Crochet them? I'm also having a hard time trying to figure out how her (I tried to make boobs, and it's got some hips, so I hope it's a girl) hair should be.

She's about 9 inches tall. I'm estimating because I'm too lazy to grab a ruler.  Roll Eyes

The fringe-y squares add something to it; it's not all stripes. Gives it a lot of extra personality. Really nice job. Smiley
