1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Shaving Cream Cards-- With Tutorial--MUST TRY! on: September 09, 2005 08:32:25 AM
Do you think that jello without food coloring, or just gelatin could be used to make a bath? I was thinking of a surface that worked the same as shaving cream, to use different types of paint on?  Hmm!
Anyone tried it? Maybe I'll be the first, if I ever get around to it.

That is too cute! It goes on my list of things to make!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Anthropologie "Vines" Scarf Reproduction (pattern added) on: September 08, 2005 03:47:39 PM
Oh, wonderful! A few weeks ago I posted a request for that very same pattern! Thanks! Beautiful reproduction, as well.
4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What to do with a wicker mannequin? on: August 15, 2005 09:12:40 AM
A fellow at work made me take home a mannequin. I'm currently calling her mannie and she lives in the backseat of my car. But that's lame, and she needs to become a useful and productive member of society. Or rather, a cool piece of decor for the new apartment.

I have posted pictures, she is hollow and quite light. I am thinking I might like to make her more sturdy, then put a light weight potted plant in her head. Any ideas on how to make her more sturdy? (she's a bit iffy on the standing up, as well)

Also, any other cool ideas on what to do with her so she actually performs a function. I'd like for her to remain her original color and texture, because I think the natural wicker is lovely.
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: A Cheap way to decorate your wall! on: August 15, 2005 07:18:05 AM
A friend of mine simply made nice, color copies from cool kids books to decorate her house. They wouldn't be more than about 50 cents a copy, I would imagine.

But the question still stands, how about nice, quality movie still? (for not too expensive)

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Collaged art boxes (6 images) on: July 27, 2005 08:32:41 PM
It sure is reassuring to know that the fine art world doesn't take Kinkaid seriously at all. Who cares that he makes tons of money, that's not why -I- make art. If you want to make tons of money, art is probably -not- the way to go, haha.

Woo, silencepainter, I dig the Rasputina image you have there.
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: How to.. ? on: July 25, 2005 11:12:20 AM
The caption for the image does say it was crocheted, but I don't necessarily believe that. But also, I don't know how to knit, so that's why I was asking about crochet.

Thanks CrazeeMoi!
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / How to.. ? on: July 23, 2005 01:09:58 PM
Can anyone help me find a pattern for something similar to this, or help me figure out how to make something like it?
It is from an Anthropologie catalogue, and I thought it was cute but overpriced (of course). Even just a pattern for the big flowers, and I could probably figure out the cord + leaves.
I'd love any feedback!

p.s. - Can anyone recommend good places to get free crochet patterns?
