1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Sweaters to quilt? Help, por favor? on: October 22, 2007 09:29:28 AM
M'kay. My mother's husband died last may and now she has all these sweaters laying around. She asked me if I would make her a quilt out of them--being the confident craftster that I am, I said "sure". Then I saw the sweaters and now I'm worried that if I cut them up to make a quilt I'll get a whole bunch of unraveled edges. Does anyone know how I can avoid the possible unraveledness? Is this even a possible feat?

Please and Thank You!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / My Mommy's Pregnant... on: March 23, 2006 11:47:07 AM
Okay.

My mom is having a baby shower in five weeks, so that gives me enough time to make something for her and/or the baby. The problem is that I'm having creative block. Anybody got any ideas???
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Panda costume! on: October 09, 2005 05:58:36 PM
I was inspired by the Care bear costume (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/karawood/DVC00084.jpg), and decided to make my own version for an upcoming halloween costme party--as a panda!

Here is my friend modeling:

The ears are a little crooked--my sister marked them for me while I was wearing it and after sewing them on according to the marks, I realized she didn't mark them right...

4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Flamenco Dancer on: September 14, 2005 08:18:09 AM

I had fun making a Little Bo Peep (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=44645.0), so I thought I would make more crocheted figures.  I made a sort of French Aristocrat from the olden white-powdered wig days, but I haven't starched her skirt yet so she doesn't stand up.  With the Flamenco Dancer, the gold stitching was very sturdy and because I made her underskirt of it, she didn't need to be starched to stand up.  It holds up really nice.  I have a few more ideas so I might be posting more.

Various angles...

A little close up.

The camera really doesn't highlight the color very well... It's actually much more red rather than that funny shade of pink, and the gold doesn't look spotty at all.  But I think you get the idea.

And now the side.

My day was boring, but I found something fun to do!
