so on january 22nd, the museum of fine arts in boston is having this exhibit on fashion, complete with a designer fashion show, meeting with stylists, and a sort of party.. what do i wear?!? i think a dress would be a little too formal. maybe some black dress pants, but i have no idea what shirt to wear.
MY IDEAS: - a kimono-style top, in a solid color, long enough to reach my butt.. the only problem is, i want to make it tighter around the belly area than a regular, loose kimono... any patterns/pictures/suggestions?
any other ideas would be great. im looking for a nice, flirty top that would just stand out, but not too over-the-top, and also warm enough!
so the past couple days when ive been using my sewing machine the thread keeps on breaking on me, every couple inches of sewing or so. i adjusted the tension but nothing seemed to work... the tension can be set on 3, 2, 1, auto, -1, -2, or -3.. i tried each one, but still --- the thread breaks every couple inches. i thought that it could be the fabric, so i tried thinner fabric, and that didnt work either. can anybody help me??
so i wanted to make a pretty dress for easter as sort of practice to make my prom dress this year.. however, when i came home from the fabric store i realize i never even got the pattern i picked out and swear i placed in the cart!! so, patternless, and only 5 days till easter, i thought id just save the pretty fabric for somethin else. but today i was oh so bored, so i made this without a pattern or anything. i think it turned out pretty nice, what do you guys think??
HEY! so during school, i have all this extra free time to do whatever and i always have no homework, so i think i could just sew for that time being. but the problem is, all i would have would be scissors, a needle and thread, so what can i bring for fabric and what can i make??? thanks!!
so a while ago i was rummaging through my closet and found white fabric!!! yayyy i thought. so i made this dress, not from a pattern or anything, just ideas i had for a while... and this is what i came up with: front back another front you cant really see the bottom, but its pretty straight, floor-length, and theres a long slit running up to mid-left thigh. in all i think i did pretty well.. what do you think??
this dress is absolutely gorgeousssss, therefore id love to make it for prom this year! however, i have no clue on even how to start, what fabric i should use, etc. can anybody please help me here?? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
