That's adorable, and I actually like the effect created by adjusting for running out of yellow. It sets off the sleeves nicely, I think. Bravo!

That bag is super, super cute.

Re: zippers...do you have a sewing machine with a zipper foot? Otherwise, I'd just sew it on by hand, as tedious as that might be. Or see if you can trade favors with a seamstress friend, perhaps?
