sounds familiar, but i really don't know, maybe the belt slipped off? does the fly wheel turn? do you have it somehow set up to wind your bobbin? have you used it before? maybe it needs a tune up? probably none of this is babble is helping, but man isn't that frustrating! atomic mary

i have another idea that works. i haven't tried it yet but i have a few friends who have. take a retractable tape measure like carpenters use, cut the amount you need x2 and round the ends. on your bag, make a casing slightly bigger and slide it in. sew up the sides. it works very similar. i would play a bit before closing the sides. i'm not sure if they should be curved sides together, apart or if it makes a difference. maybe one nessled inside the other? try it. what have you got to lose? -atomic mary-

my sister-in-law and were talking about Halloween costumes yesterday, and i was complaing that i wanted to be the gruesomes(you know from the flintstones) but nobody seems to remember them. she suggested that my husband and kids should go as kiss. we have a party to go to on the saturday, and i don't really want to bring my 2 and 4 year old. it's adult time! so we probably won't. still not a bad idea.... atomic mary

I really debated between the 6500 and 8500 and the ULT. I choose the 6500 because, I didn't think that I would use very many of the built in designs, and for the price difference, I could buy the memery cards that I know I will use. [/quote] yeah, that's true. some of the built in designs are nice (except disney- wow it sounds like i have a hate on for disney. i don't or at least i don't think i do, maybe deep down?) but i find that i use free designs i downloaded or i digitize my own. i have seen some beautiful ones on oesd or other sites like that. actually, yeah, i really haven't used too many of the built in ones. do you use PE design? atomic mary

i have used the brother 8500 and the ultima (without the disney designs, i wouldn't want to pay to have them in there when you can't use them for anything but personal use. not a big fan of disney anyway) and i use the brother software, PE design. i have also taken non-software specific classes in digitizing and found it to be quite lacking when up against other digitizing software. i do like the machine though and am thinking about the small industrial that they just came out with. but i think it was the janome software was the one that seemed to be easiest to use with the best tools, if you plan on doing any digitizing. did that help any? can you make out my thoughts? atomic mary

UGH, i pressed post by accident. i also wanted to say that there is a website for the festival as well. i think it's www.csnf.com. it's at the metro toronto convention center and you can buy tickets at len's mill for a little less than what they are at the door.
