1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: the 2006 wishlist gallery! on: February 08, 2006 07:37:51 PM
After just about everything technology related crapped out on me, I'm able to post here and tell you guys about the awesome piratey pillowcase from redstar13 and tiki-themed cards from Pretendpeterpan. I still need to reinstall my camera to pull the pictures off it, but they are AMAZING.

I'll edit this post when I have the pictures uploaded.

Thank you!!! I'm totally loving my pillowcase and I've already used 2 notecards!!
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Jamie Oliver? on: January 23, 2006 07:01:10 PM
Anyone else still as infatuated with the naked chef as I am? A Jamie Oliver themed swap, perhaps? Any takers? I'd organize??

(special thanks to Cakelady for suggesting)

That would be awesome! I'm so upset that my flash quit! Definitely post better pics if you have them!

I received from SassySword!!

A wee teddy, modified into a scurvy sea-dog!

A dubloon & dice necklace!

A handmade journal. There's a she-pirate bookplate and map in the center! I love this!

A wooden ship sculpture. I tried to get the details, but without the flash, close-up wasn't a good idea. There's a captain, his mate. Pocahantes (sp?) is the figurehead. It looks like a mini-Bratz doll is being forced to walk the plank (woo! Down with Bratz!) and a little dude is in (what I've decided is) a barrel of grog! Also, there's a crocodile stalking the Cap'n!

A pirates chest! (sorry for the darkness, the flash quit working) Notice the beheaded pirate on the chest!

I love it all! Now, of course, I'm all second guessing MY swap items. *fingers crossed* Hopefully she likes it!

*squeals with delight*

I'm so in for this, and it would be awesome if the send out wasn't until March, I have one swap I'm lagging on and 2 others that I'm finishing up.

I found a great post on planning your own indie craft show on getcrafty.  Some interesting stuff I hadn't thought of.

Here's the link http://www.getcrafty.com/blogs.php?user=pumpkingirl&entry=6010

Awesome! That does have a whole lot of good stuff!

Hey girls, completely un-craft related, but I've one extra ticket opportunity for the Dramarama show at HOB in a couple weeks. And takers?
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Rapunzel, rapunzel, let down your hair! (scarf) on: January 04, 2006 04:08:15 PM
If anyone plans to make one of these and they're in the UK, these peeps make excellent variety bags of sparkly/textured and just plain unusual yarns, all packaged up into colours and they're just the right length! I added one of their orange bags  to some plain orange wools and it looks great (even though I do say so myself! Wink) Will try for a piccy.

www.texereyarns.co.uk then click on variety bags, then when you click on 'choose colour' you are spoilt for choice! And, no, I don't work for them Wink

I'm thinking that's worth the shipping.... *drools*
