I love everybody's tattoos!! they're all so beautiful!

I have two tattoos so far and i'm looking to get eventually sleeved on my arms and my legs and have almost full coverage on my back (sans bum)

My first tattoo:


the word is Carus which latin for Beloved. It's a tribute/memorial/dedication tattoo for (don't laugh) my cockatiel. We're going on 7 years strong and he's like my child rather than my pet. I'll probably get a similar one for my second cockatiel, it won't be a heart but more along the lines with her name and birthday (Slurpee born on 7-11 total fluke that was) which is our favorite story to tell about her.

More latin,Carpe Diem means Seize the Day. im not really sure of my obsession with Latin but I think it's got alot to do with my love of languages. it's an ambigram in old english by John Langdon i borrowed from the internet. It's a really party trick and when i go to the bar drunks are constantly making me lift my arm (or helping me) and lowering it so they can see that it's reversible. It will probably be a key piece in my left arm sleeve which will be dedicated to my love of books and writing and stories in general.

and then this thursday I'll be getting the lines done on my right arm for my 3/4 sleeve of hibiscus, roses and cherry blossoms. I haven't yet seen the final line drawing so I'm counting the days. I'm so nervous but excited at the same time.

My sister's birthday is tomorrow and she requested from me a sock monkey, she didnt care what it really looked like as long as it was a girl. So i thought this would be a good time to try and expand some skills. I really looked into giving her hair and had looked into some tutorials but I figured the best way to learn is to experiment.



I used lambspride worsted in aztec turquoise, I think it really turned out great in the end!



To tack down the hair a little better I embroidered bobby pins on both sides! I think she'll like it! I'm gonna make it something to wear so she's not quite so naked and that's really about it! I have to thank Tamara of Sockmonkeyfun.com for really lighting a fire under my butt and getting me motivated for this hair thing, up until then I was content just to make bald monkeys!

This is Lulabelle my second sock monkey and my first independent sewing endeavor.



she's a bit smaller than my last sock monkey Earl but none the less a good pal for hanging out and watchin tv with.  I bought and altered some doll clothes from target and they seem to fit her near perfectly, aside from the really tight shirt but it doesn't matter too much.

After seeing all those adorable monster bags, I decided to buckle down and make one of my own. Mostly it will be to carry around knitting projects and taking on weekend trips, which are the best to take.

Over all, i'll make the next bag a bit smaller and hopefully it won't be as time consuming, this one took me about a week total putting in a couple of hours every day. The final sizes were 19" x15" for the front of the bag and about 4.5 inches wide.

NO really, this is my monkey earl, my gram and I made him the day before I moved away to go live with my fiancee in california. He's my travel buddy and sometimes a great security device in the event I feel homesick. The sweater is hand made and could probably be worked to fit any stuffed animal and it'll definitely fit a sock monkey. the pants dont really fit him so they're next to get nixed and i'll probably knit or sew a pair of my own. But all in all i'm proud, so far I've only made the one, and i've rescued another one but the next one i plan on making will definitely be a girl, much easier to make clothes for!
