11  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Baroque decoupaged shelf top on: February 22, 2013 11:59:16 PM
my sister and I rival over who has the best LEGO displays.. So, my wonderful boyfriend got me a new shelf for my LEGO collection and a dresser that I desperately needed!!
while assembling the Lego shelf, my guy ends up putting the top piece on the bottom, and the whole thing is already nailed together with back piece holding it too well.
He apologized, but I just saw a new craft project! I'll cover the top to match the room we are redoing anyway! I just happened to buy a ton of new paper for doing to backs and tops of shelf's, I already have a black & turquoise theme room so I thought I'd keep this white and black.

obviously the Lego's have been smashed to bits from redoing the room, I'll have to post pics when the whole beach scene is set up!!
here's the rest of my room Smiley

12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / *flying* Wind-up paper butterflies on: February 08, 2013 02:45:55 AM
I wanted to try these out for my grandmothers birthday card, I used this tutorial:
http://www.youaremyfave.com/2012/05/08/wind-up-paper-butterflies-are-my-fave-guest-post-from-amelia/
thru trial and error I found the best way to make these work it to use 20 gauge wire, really make the loops flat and use two tiny rubber bands to help the tension.
they flutter great! I cant wait to send them!

14  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / synthetic red dreads: temporary installment on: February 04, 2013 10:33:19 PM
I made these synthetic dreads for about $5.
I use Doctored Locks tutorials, they will show you pretty much everything you need to know about synthetic locks.
I have made some yarn locks before, but this is my first time using kanekalon. I did not do a full installment, just bobbiepinned about 5 pieces at a time into my hair, (I need to re-dread my hair)

15  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / shoes from jeans on: December 15, 2012 03:09:42 AM
I found some images online of shoes (slippers) made from jeans, but I couldn't find any tutorials!
so I played around, and made these out of some old acid washed jeans. They have two layers of white sticky-white crafts foam as a soul, and added black craft foam pads to the heel and ball of foot. I just sewed the craft foam right to the edge of the shoe. I use the belt looped waist as the edging, and the back of each shoe has a belt loop. toes of shoes where made from back pockets.
16  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / just some beads on: December 06, 2012 03:09:01 AM
actual beads just slightly smaller than this, about the size of a quarter, big beads. maybe for hair?
17  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / repurposed watch box on: December 06, 2012 02:32:30 AM
(Don't know what thread to post this under.. recycling?)
I bought a $10 watch at Wal*Mart, it came in a pretty metallic rose watch box.. well the outside was pretty, the inside was just white, with cardboard stabilizers. I modpodged some pretty rosey glitter paper to the inside, now I can keep my pretties in it!

(the black box is an image found online, my watch box is metallic rose color) pictures don't do justice, it is very sparkly!
18  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Synthetic and wool yarn dread locks/falls on: December 02, 2012 01:17:55 AM
(I don't know if this is the right category) I made these single ended dreads from synthetic and natural yarn, watching every youtube video I can-I am learning how to create dreads/falls with synthetic hair this week, sorry, no action shots, they have not been installed my hair yet.
I don't have the exact yarn names/brands I used
 turquoises, glitters, black, & blues.
19  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Frankensteins Monster and Bride on: November 02, 2012 02:01:43 PM

this prolly wont get too many hits, sense I don't have a lot of god pictures, and the ones i have are from the shoulders up Sad the BF and I decided to do a black and white costume this year, most of the clothes are thrifted, but i made my dress form a sheet, wore white leggings and white flats, the make up and hair was fun to do, our my freind helped me finger wave the white hair extensions and I have a water bottle in my hair to keep it so high, we got tons of compliments, I hope you enjoy

make up wore off after 3 hrs, and my boy freind playing a show downtown, great to see "Frank" in stage
