41  THE JOKER! and his buddies. in Halloween Costumes by appleshannon on: November 04, 2009 12:20:12 PM
my boyfriend has wanted to be the joker for years, but i only met him this year and i knew i could make it happen  for him. we all decided to be batman villains this year1 we have the joker....i made all pieces of this costume! it took SIX MONTHS TO MAKE, MOSTLY HAND SEWN. my sewing machine crapped out.
the riddler made his own, poison ivy made her own, i made two face, and the scare scrow..(not pictured) and my boy bought me the harley costume.
the face on the joker is a prosthetic
i made the jokers PURPLE VELVET JACKET, FULLY LINED IN BRIGHT ORANGE SILK.
PURPLE PANTS WITH BLACK STRIPE, FULLY LINED WITH PURPLE COTTON. HIS ORANGE SHIRT DYED FROM A WHITE SHIRT. VEST: GREEN VELVET FULLY LINED WITH ORANGE SILK.TIE IS RIBBON, AND I MAKE THE FLOWER FROM THE SAME ORANGE SILK.TWO FACE WAS ONE WHITE SUIT, ONE BLACK, CUT IN HALF AND SEWN TOGETHER.   THE JOKER: dyed his hair and had orange contacts.

HE WAS HANDING OUT JOKER CARDS ALL NIGHT. JOKER BELT BUCKLE, PURPLE DYED GLOVES, BANG GUN, CORK GUN...THE RIDDLERS CANE.. I HOPE YOU CAN SEE THE DETAIL... ALL THE WAY DOWN TO OUR SHOES. WE PLANNED THIS NIGHT 6 MONTHS IN ADVANCE!

SO HERES US WITHOUT OUR MAKEUP...DIFFRENCE??

42  Re: Harley Quinn Costume Help in Halloween Costumes by appleshannon on: September 29, 2009 07:56:11 PM
im being her this year, but i ran out of time and had to BUY the costume. so uncrafty.... the hat is just cone shaped but highly stuffed!
the shoes arnt really flats, they are like ankle boots. i got some and painted one red with fabric spray paint. im having problems trying to decide on what kind of make up to do. all black around the eyes? or something like this:BLACK OR RED LIPSTICK? maybe black lipstick with red gloss....

or shoes?

mallet or pop gun?
HAHAHA im also having trouble with the crotch of the costume...it keeps...riding up...in there...hahah.
my friends and i are all going as batman villains. my boyfriend is the old DC comic joker. and though i have green eyes, pale skin and red hair...im going as the jokers girl, harley instead of  hott-ass poison ivy!

45  TEE SHIRT TO DRESS!!! tutorial! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by appleshannon on: September 18, 2009 10:03:58 PM
hi. man its been forever since i posted something new!!! i know your all sick to death of tee shirt recons, but i added one more. this is how to make a tee shirt into a dress.
 youll need:
a shirt 2 sizes too big
a shirt with a BIG PATTERN is better then one with just a graphic in the middle
your cat to help you
scissors
needle/thread/pins
youll see the "tee recon"book in the background...this project is NOT in that book. i made this tut myself

i bought this awesome skull shirt at the thrift store. about 2 bucks. its about 2 sizes too big. i cut the sleeves off WITH THE HEMs ATTACHED TO THEM.
theirs my sleeves cut all the way open.then i cut the neck part off.
i cut up the side seam to make the shirt more rectangle. turn inside out and stitch back together.i use the sleeves as the top bust of the dress....this makes the dress longer as well.pin the sleeves to the dress and sew on...the best way to do this is to sew the sleeves together to make a tube...pin the tube to the back middle of the dress. and make it pucker in the front.

this is what it looks like when the sleeves are now sen on and are the bust of the dress.

decorate the front however you want

48  SEXY summer halters from a Tshirt in 10 min.! *with tutotrial* in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by appleshannon on: February 16, 2009 04:57:24 PM
it only takes about 10 min. to make one of these.
i drew you a tut. ask me if you don't understand anything.

NOTES:
dark color=wrong or back side
light color= front or right side
i would not suggest using girls shirts for this project, the are too small and very thin fabric...hard to work with.
i would use men's large T shirts.
they are stronger fabric, and more of it to work with.
use shirts with no side seams, just the tube kind.
use shirts with cool graphic logos, or band shirts.
know your measurements.
snaps, ties, Velcro or safety pins with also work as closures.
try this with contrasting thread for a neat look.

49  Oh, my talking bird- in Stenciling: Completed Projects by appleshannon on: February 02, 2009 11:40:37 PM
this could go in "home sweet home".
i made this out of sticky shelf contact paper.
wood grain and flat black
i based it off of the DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE lyrics "talking bird"

"-------Oh, my talking bird
Though you know so few words
They're on infinite repeat
Like your brain can't keep up with your beak.

And you're kept in an open cage
So you're free to leave or stay.
Sometimes you get confused
Like there's a hint I am trying to give you.

The longer you think, the less you know what to do.

It's hard to see your way out
When you live in a house in a house
Cause you don't realize
That the windows were open the whole time.

Oh, my talking bird
Though your feathers are tattered and furled
I'll love you all your days
Till the breath leaves your delicate frame.

It's all here for you as long as your choose to stay.
It's all here for you as long as you don't fly away."------
