Absolutely beautiful!!!  The fit is stunning and it suits you so well.  Congrats on finishing--did I mention it is beautiful?

Seriously guys, this was so fun.  I have been loving all of your color choices and am excited to see how all yours turn out.  Thanks for all the support and encouragement.

I did Eunny's Deep V Vest early this year and that was my first exposure to steeking.  When I was cutting the steeks on that vest I carefully snipped the yarn and held my breath the whole time.  With Venezia I just made sure I was cutting in a straight line and went for it with no fear.  It really isn't as scary as you think.  Especially since this yarn is so sticky--I promise, it won't unravel.

I am done with the body of the sweater and am on the left sleeve.  I am hoping to have it all done and seemed by next week.  Here is the body blocking for your viewing pleasure:

I was lucky and was able to choose colors at my LYS.  If it helps, here is what I did.

I first pulled all the colors (or close to them) from the pattern and laid them all out.  The base colors (mooskit, mooskit/white, sand) I kept the same and then started swapping out the colors.  The biggest thing I changed was that I made my accent color shades of red (instead of the gold/yellow) and then I kept the blues and greens but changed the shades of those colors to match the reds that I choose.  I made sure however, that if the color is light or dark in the pattern, to make my chosen shades light or dark too.

I don't know if this helps but it is how I did it.  I think to do it online, my suggestion would be to pick a accent color first and work from there.  Good luck!

I am getting gauge with and knitting the bulk of the sweater on US 2 addi turbos.  So it is not so bad, I promise.

So here is where I am at:

I am loving this sweater so far.  I have to pay close attention to not mess up the pattern but I love watching it grow.  I can't wait to see all your pullovers started too!

I am so glad I found this thread.  I cast on for this sweater on Sunday.  I am only done with the bottom band and am starting my colorwork tonight.  I am using the suggested yarn--it is expensive yes but my goodness the color selection was to die for.  My LYS carries it so I was able to pick out colors easily.  I am using some of the same color scheme except I switched out the golds for reds and changed the shades of the blues to match.  I will post a picture as soon as I complete a couple inches of the colorwork.  Good luck everyone!

I love, love, LOVE this sweater!  Kinky Knit and gloriana, yours both look beautiful.
9  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Anyone knitting "Glee"? on: August 29, 2006 12:54:16 PM
I am knitting Glee too so I am in!  I have been distracted by several other projects right now so it is not going as fast as I would like.  My bold orange version is a couple inches past the sleeves.

What I am trying to work out is if I want to add any shaping or not.  Is anyone adding any modifications?

That is what I used and I loved it.  I just like the feel of wool over cotton and I like the way 4-ply soft drapes.  Good luck!
