1  Need baby clothes quilt opinion - Picture of layout included in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by eowynmn on: January 23, 2009 06:03:14 PM
Ok so here's my thrown together layout of the quilt I'm making out of my son's baby clothes. (Sorry for the tilted picture...the layout is 4' by 6' and that's the most straight on I could get).

Anyway, you can see the stripes of just blue and just green going diaganal, and I'm wondeirng if I should add in bright yellow and red squares so one diaganal stripe is blue-red-blue-red, and the other is yellow-green-yellow-green?  It would make for more bright colors.

On the other hand, I could just make this quilt as a mostly blue/green quilt.  Does that look too washed out?

A third option would be to do a 1 inch border in red, and then the 3" fuzzy blue border I was going to do, and then a satin binding in green.

Any opinions?  What would you do?

2  First two quilts - Red/white lap quilt, Green/Purple log cabin retro baby quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by eowynmn on: July 27, 2006 07:19:47 PM
This was my first quilt.  It's a simple lap quilt made with 6" squares to match my living room.

This...much harder quilt was my second quilt.
I made it for my friend who kinda likes retro patters, so I thought all the geometric shapes would be fun.  I was going for a twilight zone look putting the "neverending squares" in the middle of the log cabin.
I just quilted in the ditch to keep it simple for me.

(ignore the little sewing mishap on this block...I'm going it fix it before I give it to her).

I recieved from flaereon!
My camera keeps taking blurry pictures so maybe she has a better one.

I recieved yellow flowers for my car
a Supergirl journal - wee
an oragami tshirt thingy (I think that's what it is). It's cute.  for my desk at work.

And an eternal sunshine box that's cute and it's sitting on my work desk right now...with a bottle of white out in it because I haven't figured what I'm going to put in it yet. hrmmm.

Anyway here's a pic from my blurry camera.

Thanks Flaereon! Smiley

I hope she gets mine soon - the DC says they attempted delivery yesterday *sniffle*

OHHH! I Just recieved the greatest package from onthinice.
I asked for a superhero surprise and she sent me
a journal,
a note pad
6 comic books
and very cool home made soap

Now look at how cool this stuff is - she did a TON of work scanning in pictures and watermarking them, etc - and I have no idea how! i'm just amazed.
Here's a picture of everything:

Here are the cool insides.  Notice the watermakred paper right?  Well thats just one page - EACH PAGE HAS A DIFFERENT WATERMARKED SUPERGIRL IMAGE!   Look, even gizmo is amazed.  Also notice the cool pics on the inside of the journal etc.

Another closeup of watermarking:

Am I a lucky girl or what?
This stuff is so good - I dont even want to ruin it by using it.  My best friend is going to be so jealous. heheheh
Maybe I could use the journal to journal.scrapbook my conventions.

YAY! ok thanks for listning and thanks so much onthinice!

I recieved my first wish and in fact the first wish ever granted on this swap.
So first, big HUGE thanks for PinkMafia for taking a chance and going first!  You rock! Smiley

Second, here are pictures of what she sent me.
I asked for a necklace, and not only did she send a necklace, she sent hair pinks that are awesome and some cool fabric too! See:

Closeup of jewelry:

Now here is where the weird part is.  I did NOT ask for fabric what so ever right, but I love fabric and more than that I love polka dots which can be proved by this picture below.
Yes that is the fabric pink mafia sent me in the middle.  On the right hand side is a handlebag I made out of the SAME fabric in different colors - thats right - EXACT same fabric.
But even weirder, on the right side you see the other green polka dot fabric, and I was looking for something to go opposite it in a tote bag YESTERDAY....and do you see how they are going to be mod fabulous!. *insert twilight zone theme here*

To add to the weird...look at the shirt I was wearing when I recieved the jewelry...do you see how it matches perfectly:

In conclusion I've had a super stressful week, and horrible day and pinkmafia made it all bette and I'm pretty sure it was fate! Wee

Therefore best swapper ever.
Thank you so much!

Erica
