1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Soaps! on: November 11, 2006 09:54:09 AM
Thanks everyone!

My mom brought up the same arguement: CP soaps are better. I just don't have the space to do something that big...that's why I figured doing m&p would be easier!

Thanks for your input. =D

Please excuse me if this has been posted before!

My mother and I are looking to do some craft shows in the beginning if December. Not having the time or money to invest in my jewelry hobby, I figured I would try something new: m&p soap making. It seems fun, easy and quick.

I'm looking to make a $100 investment [I have nothing as of right now], meaning I'll be buying glycerin, herbs, dyes, etc...

My question is...is soap making something that could be profitable at a craft show? Do people buy soaps? Do any of you have any personal experiences or stories to share?

I'd rather find out now if there's a market for it rather than make 230857629 soaps that don't sell. A girl can only use so much soap!  Cheesy lol

Thanks a lot for reading and responding!  Wink
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Classic Tattoo Swap? on: September 27, 2006 03:00:50 PM
i'd rather do a flat out classic tattoo swap. although i love miami ink, i think it would be a little odd to craft for. perhaps just a tattoo swap and if the swappers want, they could do something influenced by the show [maybe a potrait inspired by kat's work stenciled onto something; ami inspired japanese artwork stecils...]?

a general tattoo swap would blanket enough for all people to join. people with tats, that like tats, fans of miami ink/inked...and then pairs of people could be matched upon what category of crafts theyd like to swap.

i'd be in!

but perhaps just a more generalized 'tattoo swap' rather than miami ink.

Very cute skirt!! I like the fabric you used!

Ahhh....little boys in undies!! LMAO!! My 2 sons (11 and 4 yrs) are often in that state in this hot weather. Obviously my older son has not yet developed any modesty, so don't be surprised if your little bro is still doing that in 5-6 yrs!

yea, modesty does not seem to be coming anytime soon. lol

thank you everyone! i got the fabric at walmart for 2 bucks a yard!
