Details of swap:
This Swap is for anything Victorian Inspired or related. This can be a literal translation or not. Think about how much fashions this season are inspired by victorian times! high necklines, lace, rich colors...etc. This can be interpreted so many different ways so be specific about what you are interested in and I will try my hardest to match people up with someone who is in the same mindspace as them. Ideas could include jewelry, clothing, papercrafts, artwork, hats, decoupaged boxes...etc...there's so many places you can go with this.
I've decided to keep this swap to a minimum. The craft requirement is for one large/time consuming item and one small/less time consuimg item. I'm also making the craft time a but longer so that we all don't get overwhelmed trying to craft during the holidays!

13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Victorian Swap on: September 28, 2005 12:23:02 PM
I am completely obsessed with anything and everything Victorian right now...maybe inspired by the series of unfortunate events...or maybe the awesome Japanese Harajuku girls that look so modernly victorian...I don't know...anyone else interested in this?
14  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first attempt at a lining-Clutch W/Handle on: August 26, 2005 09:49:09 PM

I tried this clutch with a lining and it's the first time I've attempted a lining before...not sure how good it turned out...it couldn't have helped that I used a bulky wool felt as teh lining and a thick canvas like stripe as well. but I think it came out ok for a first attempt.

here's the inside...i forgot to sew the velcro on before i finished so it looks kinda messy
15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Clutch with doggie! on: August 26, 2005 06:08:05 PM

Hey! Here is my first clutch! I made it for my best friend with a picture of HER best friend on it! haha...hope you all like it...the handles are a little lopsided but that's just because I used chopsticks for the handle and I needed to sew tight next to them so they would stay in place.

16  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Seed Packets FUN! on: August 26, 2005 03:07:19 PM

Here are some seed packets I made to send out with swaps and letters and stuff...just as extras you know? or maybe just to give to friends and family...they have white hollyhock seeds in them...I just took a couple pinches of seeds in each packet.

I sewed the vintage wallpaper together to form a packet and I used illustrations of pretty flowers from a  70's national geographic atlas and sewed those on as decoration...also I stamped the word seeds on the front...I'm thinking of glueing a little piece of paper on the backs that has instructions on how to grow them...

...what do you think??
