25  Re: Green Purse Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by girlwonder on: September 13, 2005 06:30:08 AM

here's my clutch! Sorry! I had to use my scanner because apparently my camera doesn't particularly like working at 12:15 in the morning. It's much more vibrant IRL! The lining is a pale pink with tiny rosebuds printed all over and bead charms on each end! Sarah will post more pictures whenever she's able to!  Smiley

OH MY GOSH! this is so beautiful!!

BTW-yes the bag I made is out of felt...I like working with it cause it doesn't need a lining and I can do "rough" seams...they're on the outside of the bag you know? This swap prompted me to try this fabric and now I can't stop working with it...I've made pins, clutches, totes, wallets...all kinds of stuff...it's simply so fogiving and easy to use.

The bag I sent to Misskumari:

The inside with a bunch of my crap to make it look like its being used...heh

The little change purse I made to match

BTW-the pocket insert is removable and I added a hard bottom to it so it could hold all of Kumari's Medical Textbooks.

27  My first attempt at a lining-Clutch W/Handle in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by girlwonder on: August 26, 2005 09:49:09 PM

I tried this clutch with a lining and it's the first time I've attempted a lining before...not sure how good it turned out...it couldn't have helped that I used a bulky wool felt as teh lining and a thick canvas like stripe as well. but I think it came out ok for a first attempt.

here's the inside...i forgot to sew the velcro on before i finished so it looks kinda messy

28  Clutch with doggie! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by girlwonder on: August 26, 2005 06:08:05 PM

Hey! Here is my first clutch! I made it for my best friend with a picture of HER best friend on it! haha...hope you all like it...the handles are a little lopsided but that's just because I used chopsticks for the handle and I needed to sew tight next to them so they would stay in place.

29  Seed Packets FUN! in Completed Projects by girlwonder on: August 26, 2005 03:07:19 PM

Here are some seed packets I made to send out with swaps and letters and stuff...just as extras you know? or maybe just to give to friends and family...they have white hollyhock seeds in them...I just took a couple pinches of seeds in each packet.

I sewed the vintage wallpaper together to form a packet and I used illustrations of pretty flowers from a  70's national geographic atlas and sewed those on as decoration...also I stamped the word seeds on the front...I'm thinking of glueing a little piece of paper on the backs that has instructions on how to grow them...

...what do you think??

I may embroider a beak in the electric blue thread I used for the eyes/buttons...what do you think??
