1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Aunt Martha's Iron On Patterns on: May 06, 2010 10:08:01 AM
Does anyone know if the ink will come out of the fabric?  I'm embroidering on flannel.

Will it just come out in the wash?  Or should I use stain remover first?

Thanks!
2  UNITED STATES / Colorado / 1st Annual Crafter's Delight - 9/18/2010 on: March 28, 2010 11:52:13 AM
I was just skimming through Craigslist when I saw this post:

http://denver.craigslist.org/eve/1629089061.html

It's apparently the first of many future craft shows in Aurora and is September 18, 2010 from 10am-4pm.  It's $60 per booth if you bring your own table and chairs or $85 if you want to rent from them.

I haven't emailed the person yet, so I'm not sure if it's "real," but I thought some of my fellow Colorado Craftsters would be interested!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Brocade Blazer on: December 06, 2008 08:45:52 PM
This evening I decided that I had the urge, after months and months, to sew.  So, I set out to my room and created this...  thing.  Blazer?  Jacket?
Anywho, the material is black brocade with turquoise and brown embroideries.  I also used a pattern, though the make and number escape me at the moment.  Though, if anyone wants to know, I'll run and find out.

On to the pictures!

Sorry for the lousy webcam shots, I was too lazy to take out my real camera.

So, I was thinking of wearing this blazer to a work holiday party, with something underneath.  Thoughts?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I just stepped out of a movie!? (5 Pics) on: November 10, 2006 08:35:06 AM
I made this dress for Homecoming last month.  I just adore it!

Oh, about the title, people kept on saying to me the whole night, "You look like you just stepped out of a black and white movie!"  It's a great comment, since that was the look I was going for, but it gets old after, oh, about 40 times.

Anyway, on to the pictures!

People said it looked great, but then again, they don't sew.  If I could get some comments from some Craftster gods/goddesses, it would be fantastic!
5  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Vogue 2878 for Homecoming on: June 26, 2006 04:05:01 PM
Has anyone made Vogue 2878?  I'm thinking of making it as my homecoming dress.  I will probably make it in teal, but more of a blue-teal, not a green-teal.  What is the best material to make it out of?  At my Joanns and Hancocks, they don't have any formalwear fabric in the teal I want.  Any places you can think of?

My date is going to wear a black suit with white pinstripes and a teal screenprinted tee instead of a shirt an tie.  He will wear a black belt and shoes.  Do you think this would be good with this dress?

I have a lovely beaded clutch to go with this, but there is not much teal in it.  It has a bunch of o;ther colours, though.  The background is white, so would I do white shoes or coloured ones?
6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Face Painting on: June 08, 2006 10:43:10 AM
I'm going to be doing face painting at a school fair soon, but I'm not quite sure what to do.  I don't want to paint their whole face, but maybe just a little something on the cheek or hand.  I'm going to be using watercolor pencils - they dry faster.

So far I have come up with:
Baseball
football
basketball
butterfly
flower
rainbow
paw print
stars
hearts

Is anyone here a face painter, have tricks, tips, or photos of what to do?  The designs can't be too complicated; it's my first time doing this outside of the home!
7  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Surgical Cap Pattern on: May 30, 2006 08:52:21 AM
I'm looking for a free pattern for a surgical cap for a friend, but alas, no luck so far!  If anyone has a link to one or knows how the individual pieces look, it would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks so much!  Grin
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / What side do I print on?? on: April 21, 2006 07:55:52 PM
Hi all yall iron-on experts!  A newbie to iron-ons needs some help!

I bought June Taylor paper for clothing labels.  I know, Avery is best, but it was what my craft store had.  There is a red line on one side of the paper and nothing on the other.  My printer prints face-up.  What side do I print on?

I'm assuming the blank side, but I just want to make sure!

Thanks a bunch!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Gift for Directors? on: April 04, 2006 05:41:03 PM
My whole cast and I want to make a gift to our directors of James and the Giant Peach (our third and final performance is at the end of April).  The problem is, we have not a clue what to do!  I was thinking of flower pens, but it seems very Martha-ish.  There are over 10 of us, so it can't be too expensive, and all of us would like to do something (maybe something with multiple parts to it?).  We would like it to do something with James and the Giant Peach.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

10  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Has anyone made Vogue 8155, 8081, or 7877? on: December 16, 2005 03:55:42 PM
All Vogue patterns are 75% off at Hancock, so I thought I should take advantage of the sale!

Here's the links:

Vogue 8155: http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.V8155=x&TI='8155'&page=1
Vogue 8081: http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.V8081=x&TI='8081'&page=1
Vogue 7877: http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.V7877=x&TI='7877'&page=1

I'm going on a trip soon, so I thought maybe I could whip up some cute shirts.  I have never done a Vogue before; I've heard they're hard.

I could make 8081 out of jersey or other strechy fabric too, right?

How long did it take you to make it and what view did you do?

Thanks everyone!
