1  Platinum Chain Maille Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by wasabipeasrule on: July 15, 2009 08:42:02 PM
Hey all,

My fiancee doesn't have a craftster account, so sometimes I like to post the wonderful things he makes so that he can get credit where credit is due. He made me this necklace for Christmas last year. The links are made of platinum, and he hand-cut each one of them separately and linked them together with pliers. I wear it almost every day and think about how great it is to have a man who knows his tools. Cheesy

2  Nightcrawler shirt! (and a simple dress.) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by wasabipeasrule on: June 20, 2009 07:43:13 AM
I had an old white T-shirt, which is not allowed. So now it features Nightcrawler from X-men! On the front is the noise he makes when he teleports, complete with comic-book kitsch:

And on the back is his silhouette, in gloriously tacky fabric marker:

Also, because I didn't feel like starting a new post: I LOVE those cheater dresses from Joanne Fabrics. You know, where the fabric comes with crinkly bits at the top, and you just sew it to fit your body size? I also added a green sash. It took, like, half a sec. I also was too lazy to actually put it on. Noticing a pattern here?

Hope you like!

3  Prom Dress... only a year late! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by wasabipeasrule on: June 01, 2009 04:30:20 PM
I figured since craftster has been a flurry of prom dreses lately I might as well post mine from my senior prom in 2008. I'd tell you what pattern it was made from... but I forget. You can't really tell, but there's little silver beads on the front in the middle of the neckline, and the skirt has a layer of transparent tulle-esque fabric over the silk. I love it.

4  Beatles themed bedroom [EXTREMELY IMG HEAVY] in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by wasabipeasrule on: December 21, 2008 07:08:12 PM
I actually finished this project when I was a freshman in high school and never got around to posting it. I was inspired by a Beatles-themed dresser that I saw on here, and since they are my favorite band, I decided to paint my entire room with a smattering of Beatles lyrics. Now that I'm a freshman in college and my mom is trying to sell the house, it will all have to be painted over. :/ Ah well, easy come, easy go.

Over my mirror ("Happiness is a Warm Gun" lyrics coming out of the gun):

Over my closet:

On my window seat:

On the head of my bed:

Above my dresser:

Over my bookshelves:

On my window frame:

Above my bed:

On my closet door:

Above my window (couldn't be buggered to stand on a chair and take a better pic):

Over my bulletin board:

On the ceiling:

My door (2 photos so you can see all the words):

5  Chain Maille in Costumes: Completed Projects by wasabipeasrule on: December 21, 2008 06:31:10 PM
I want to emphasize that I take no credit for this. This hand-linked chain maille gorget was made by my wonderful fiancee. We participate in medieval reenactment with the Society for Creative Anachronism, and as part of it we engage in battles with other reenactors wearing full armor. Since my neck is too small for most regular gorgets (metal or leather collars that protect the throat), my talented boy made me this chain maille for my helmet armed with nothing but pliers and optimism. :]

We bought the helmet, he just made the chain maille. I love it! Cheesy Thanks for looking

6  Simple hat and mittens in Crochet: Completed Projects by wasabipeasrule on: December 21, 2008 06:25:09 PM
I made these for my best friend for Hanukkah. The yarn is very fuzzy. It was kinda hard to work with since I'm a beginning crocheter, but I love the finished product. Not bad for never learning how to read a pattern, huh?  Tongue

Modeled by yours truly. Sorry bout the lighting.

7  Harem pants and more cholis! [5 pics] in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by wasabipeasrule on: December 21, 2008 06:20:04 PM
Like I said, imageshack is no more, so alll my old choli posts are kaput. No matter, I now have a fresh supply! muaahahahaha. This is Molly, my bestie, in an orange 16th-century Mughal top that she made. She is also wearing red harem pants, those poofy cotton pants with elastic around the ankles.

Here's the back, just in case you were wondering.

This is me in a lavender one I made with the same pattern, and an olive patterned skirt. Solid top and patterned skirt was the style in India some 4 centuries ago. Or so I hear.

I, clearly, should be on America's Next Top Model.

Finally, turquoise choli and black harem pants.

Enjoy! If you want the choli pattern, it's here: http://www.pennib.net/FeoragDubh/Patterns/choli203.gif

8  Medieval Indian Choli in Costumes: Completed Projects by wasabipeasrule on: December 21, 2008 05:36:25 PM
I posted some of these last year, but Imageshack has become... like... not a website. And my photos got eaten. Anyway, a new Photobucket, a new day. This is my best friend Molly at Pennsic 37 this past summer (if you don't that what I'm talking about, don't worry about it). She is wearing a 16th century Mughal choli pattern, which is a touch late for medieval reenactment but whatever. She's pretty cute.

This is me wearing the same pattern (but in a charming shade of forest green). They only take about forty five minutes to make.

The pattern is here if anyone wants it. Smiley

Here are some samples from a recent photo shoot I did with my friend Lauren. And Spanky the teddy bear.
