On Union Turnpike and Parsons Blvd, there's a store called "Knit N Needles". I've never been in there... But I think I will soon.

Does anyone have parking information?  Is there a parking lot?  Or do we have to find street parking?
street parking only.

there is the subway option too, though
143  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Any suggestions on a sewing machine!? on: June 16, 2006 07:15:05 PM
Nothing wrong with an old trusty sewing machine. Mine is a little older than me, at 19 years. It works like a charm. My grandmother had a sewing machine that had to be at least 80 years old. It was wonderful.
144  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: geisha swap? on: June 15, 2006 07:57:17 AM
I love Japanese stuff. If it's to be something big, it would be nice to have a long make time.
Yeah, that would be nice. I'd love to do this.

For some reason it brings to mind sweet oranges. I love it and the color is perfect.

my daughter in law still had her black bra on from work
teehee, I can tell. The fabric looks so floaty, I'd love to be wearing it right now.
147  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: My Origami Projects - ULTRA IMG HEAVY on: June 13, 2006 10:17:48 PM
Nice, I don't think I can ever finish any of those larger pieces.

If anyone lives in NYC, there are tons of stores in chinatown (Elizabeth St & Canal St) or in Brooklyn chinatown (8th Ave & around 50-60th streets). They have tons of different sized origami papers in nice patterns as well as many kits for creatures/cartoon characters, star paper, turtle paper and more. If anyone's up to a personal swap, I can get you stuff. Everything's really cheap too, from 50 cents to $1 a package and ~$3-$10 a kit.
Hey hey hey! Don't forget Main St. in Queens! We have our own Chinatown too!  Wink

I really liked the whale. Did you get the paper at a regular crafts store?

Wow, the sushi is totally cool. What did you use as stuffing? Do they hold up well?
