I didn't know what to get my mom for mothers day and finally she told me she wanted a cake so I made her a CAKE! This is also my first post here in the cooking boards. I got up Sunday morning and decided to make a rainbow layer cake for my mom. I just used a regular yellow cake mix and used food coloring and strawberry mixed with vanilla frosting. Here are the many pics of the cake. Its 5 layers.
All the colors.

This was my first time making a rainbow cake and my first layer cake and my first time trying to do that with the icing. The icing was really to runny to do that right. After making it I didn't even try any of it until today because I had already spent so much time with it. lol Thanks for looking!

6  4 of the same hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by winter83 on: March 12, 2012 01:57:10 PM
Because making 7 hats for Christmas wasn't enough hats I've been making more.

I first found this pattern because my sister wanted me to make her a slouchy hat. I picked this pattern because its slouchy and looked like something I could knit. It is Slouched Tuva Hat  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/slouched-tuva-hat

So I started with the first hat for my sister

Knitting this hat sucked because Lucci Yarn Sequins I put with Berroco Vintage DK is big regular sharp sequins. So it took me a lot longer to knit this because of the sequins.

Here is the second Tuva which I made for myself.

Then I made a pink shiny one for my friend Aimee. I forgot to take a pic before giving it to her this is a pic she took.

Lastly I made a black shiny one for my friend Tracy

This picture looks funny because I photo shopped it on my tablet to make it brighter.

The last 2 knit up quick because I knit them with worsted weight. I just used the I Love This Yarn Sparkle because a lot of friends that I make things for our vegan and don't want things made out of any animal fibers so I have several skeins of this.

If anyone wants to make this pattern I would say go for it is easy and I really like my hat. Its good for bad hair days. lol

9  HELP My dog puked on my knitting!!! in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by winter83 on: February 16, 2008 11:24:45 AM
This morning I was working on the scarf that is my first real knitting project on needles. I've just been looming knitting for awhile. I've been working on this for over a month when I have time like in my classes that I don't have to pay attention to.
I went and sat on the couch with my mom and the dog jumps up there and pukes all over my lap and knitting!!

So now I don't know what to do I want to try to save the yarn. It sitting in a bucket of cold water not moving. Its di.Ve'
Autunno Aran / 10 ply Merino. I'm just so sad because its such a pretty yarn and I want to save it all I can thing of to do is try to get the puke out and let it soak and slowly frog it while wet and then let it dry and put it into a hank.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?? I would be greatfull!

This is what it looks like. It so pretty and squishy soft. Please help me save it!

10  Gems, jewels, and cameos. Sounds pricey doesn't it. New Necklaces (pic heavy) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by winter83 on: December 09, 2007 12:26:46 PM
These are 4 necklaces I made. They are inspired by the work of Tarina Tarantino. I love all her work but I am a jobless bum right now and can't not afford any of it so I decided to make some things with stuff I already had.

I am not sure if this one is done or not
