I've made two bags with this pattern now, I love it so much!



This one is out of some fabrics from Amy's Nigella line, which is home decorating weight. I really love this bag so much - it fits so much in it. I used it as my everyday purse (crazy, I know), but I put my whole lunch and a travel mug in it - I could probably fit a lot of work in it too, luckily I don't have any to bring home. Unfortunately, it's a bit dirty right now - I was in a car accident a few weeks ago, and haven't washed it since. I'm not very hopeful it will come clean, but I do have more fabric in case I need to make another one, or take it apart and remove the stained piece (just one side of the body got stained).

The inside is plain white, and the two pockets match the the handles.




This one is out of the Daisy Chain fabrics. I have a large family, mostly female, which is always a problem when I show up with something I've made - everyone wants one! I made this for one of my college aged cousins who we had in the Christmas draw. Inside is off-white, with the pockets in the same fabric as the handles. The size is perfect, I think she'll be able to throw some books and her laptop in it to bring to class or the library.

I've been working on a quilt for a few months now. It's my first quilt, queen sized, and so far I've poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this thing. Well this weekend my friend poured some red wine into it too. Did I mention it's mostly white?

Here is a picture of the top, before I started quilting. Right now, I'm about three quarters of the way through the quilting (which is taking extra long because my machine isn't that great).


At this point, I'm not sure what to do. We tried to remove some of the stain with some white vinegar, and it helped a bit, but now there's a bit of a yellow ring around the area we washed. I didn't want to throw it in the wash, as I've still got a lot of quilting to do.

Most of the stains are along one side, a few squares in. I have to check, I think I have a few more squares from the Charm packs, but I don't think I have any more white. The stain went through to the back too, but I don't have any more fabric for that (and since it's just two big pieces sewn together, I can't exactly replace the stained squares). I'm wondering, should I pick out all the quilting around the stained squares and try to replace them?  Should I finish quilting it, and then try washing it or sending to a cleaners?  Or should I just give up on it?

None of my friends (who were here) are crafters, so they really don't understand. I've spent a lot of time and money on this thing already. It's my first quilt, I was making it for myself, and even though it's not perfect, I'm very proud of it.  Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?
