21  The Mochachino Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by midnight on: July 19, 2010 11:48:12 AM
I made this dress a while ago and now finally have a half decent picture. Its loosely based on the 'coffee date dress' but I used a different pattern to get a different shape of dress. The colours reminded me of a mochachino so here you have it!

The brown waistband is actually a satin ribbon sash which ties in a bow at the back.

22  1950s Summer Dress (pic heavy) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by midnight on: March 25, 2010 04:18:19 AM
Inspired by this dress:

I had 2 metres worth of fantastically cheap upholstry fabric, a night alone and an urge to fill my wardrobe with 50s dresses. And voila! I drafted the pattern myself and have made a black petticoat to go under it. the whole thing was lovely and easy to make.

Here it is with the petticoat underneath

And without

Finally I have photos!

Black satin headband, with black and red jewels and pearls.

Black satin fascinator with pearls - sooo beautifully crafted!

And my favourite!

I have wanted a grey fur stole for SO long! I have NO idea how Fleur de Lis knew - amazing intuition! And I absolutely adore it!

Thanks so much Fleur de Lis, the things you sent are so unbelievably ME! I wore the stole and the headband to a posh concert the nght I got them and had many compliments.
