Yep, those socks were definitely designed by the same people who did the sets for Laugh-in. Maybe we should name her Judy, for the sock-it-to-me girl.
As for the socks fraying, they don't, really.... the hardest thing is they kind of curl up when you cut them and it's hard to keep the pieces flat while you sew.
I sewed most of her on my trusty Bernina, so I'm not worried about her coming apart.
For that matter, Miss Monk, my childhood friend who has led a very long and eventful life, is still hanging in there with all her body parts! I'm pretty sure she was made entirely by hand.
