Swap name: 2007 AUSSIE christmas card & small gift swap!

Date to send item by: 13 th of December (3 weeks for crafting)

All ages allowed?  All ages, under 18 please ask your parents first and they may contact me if any concerns.

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:

- Has posted at least 15 times: YES/NO
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES/NO

Details of swap:

Aussie only xmas card & small gift swap!

Similar to last year's  and the year before aussie christmas card & small gift swap.

Depending on size of signups everyone will send to as many people as they choose eg 5 or 10 ok. If you want to send to just 2 thats ok too just let me know before end of sign ups!

You must send and recieve the same number of cards with gift! eg Send 6 = recieve 6  or send 2 = recieve 2. simple huh!

Send something handmade by YOU. Crafting should be no more than 1 hour,  so quick easy swap!.

I anticipate lots of pre crafting and a pic sample in thread before sign ups close so partners can be requested.
If you wish to pre craft all your items, still consider your partners preferences in colour, style where possible when sending.

Reply to this thread if interested and pm organizer your list of at least 3 items you wish to offer  for people to choose what you could send to them, you can add more later if you want, before final partner requests.

When your crafting is complete, pm organizer, so you can be identified green = ready to send!

Participants crafster name and list of things they are offering will be listed  on this front page, next post and link to picture sample in thread. (before partners picked by nov 23 rd)

DO NOT SEND UNTIL partners completed crafting and not until december 13th so items are recieved closer to xmas to make it more fun. 

Everyone  needs to pm organizer when you recieve. And place a picture of gift and card in gallery (to be set up) and send a recieved & thankyou pm to sender.

Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right spot for posting but I wanted to show off this lovely tree I made for my cousin's 21st. Her birthstone is amethyst and she is almost finished her horticulture course, so I thought this would be a lovely keepsake for her.

It is made with copper wire and genuine amethyst chips, on a natural rock.



I love how it turned out and am posting it off this week.
what do you think?
I hope to make another for my mother in law 's birthday.

I made this for myself recently at a class at a bead shop in Cairns. It was fun to have some me time and get creative. I hope to make more. It is crochet 28gauge wire with gorgeous coloured freshwater pearls green and light purple, gem chips and swarzoski crystals.
I am loving wearing it.

Aussie Sweatshop Sampler Swap
 

In this Aussie swap we are making, sending and recieving 5 packages with either a couple of small items or a medium sized item which would retail at about $10 and take about 1-2 hours total crafting time.
Everyone crafts 5 like items, and in return you will receive 5 different items from other particpants in the swap. You can nominate to do 1 (send to 5) set or 2 (send to 10) sets. 14/1/07: MODIFICATION: by popular request. we are doing a shop the sweatshop version. You offer 4 choices of what you are happy to send and recipients choose from your shop. You choose from the shops you are allocated by organizer. So this way if its a small swap people can get a variety of items to choose from.
we have 2 weeks of signups than 2 weeks to craft than send. so thats 4 weeks to make your items. make a sample and take a pic so we can all see it in this thread and help us with picking what we want to recieve.

HI everyone,

I was wondering if there is an interest to start this kind of swap.

AUSSIE SWEATSHOP SAMPLER SWAP
This swap would give you the chance to make items you would like to offer and send, than recieve items back.
Participants could discuss what they would like to make or swap for in the thread than when we sign up nominate what you will be making and offering to send.

I would think you could nominate to either send to (5) five people or (10)people.

Items could vary from say 2 small to 1 medium. well made and presented. Items would say retail for around $10 but of course cost you a lot less to make.  its a good way to show off samples of your products if you have a website, etsy shop, ebay shop or OZtion shop too.

Examples of what I mean:

• handmade stuffies, amigurumi, sock monkeys, felted items, embroidered items
• jewellery, bracelet/earing set, necklace/earing set, pendants in pouches, brooches, handmade beads, set of 2 barettes, hairpin sets of 6 pairs

• packages of 2-3 handmade soaps, or a jar of hand and body scrub & or  a jar of lotion, potpouri, lavendar sachets, scented draw pillow, wardrobe scented hangers, lip balm, candles
• wallet, pouches, crochet hook holder, pincushions, kanzashi, needle book, mini totes

• hand dyed wool, pantas, crochet pouches, beanies, knitted items like scarves, mini totes
• handmade paper journals, set of atc/decorated cards/gift labels, mini print/painting for wall, handmade magnets

• mini diy kits eg scoubi pen kit, felted soap kit, embroidery diy kit, crochet panta kit, knitted scarf kit, lip balm or soap making kit

so there are lots of ideas and i would love to hear from other people.
Postage would be low as its australia post.
Is anyone else interested.
Say start crafting what you want to offer whilst sign ups are on, give 2 weeks to complete crafting and post out than.
