2431  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Jordy Bag - Square Bottomed Lined Bag Tutorial on: August 06, 2005 11:59:41 PM
I got the fabric at our local spotlight store here in australia, not that expensive and they had lots of tiger, leopard etc so i am going back for some other fabric as my daughter wants one and so do i and my mum too lol.
I posted my pic of my jordy on a couple of my sewing groups and they all liked it so i have directed them to read the tutorial.

thanks for the comments

2436  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / using surgical steel for earings PIC LINK WORKING 5/8/05 on: July 27, 2005 11:24:14 AM
Hi I am allergic to cheap wires so I have started making some earings from scratch myself using surgical steel. I found it in a fishing supply store. Very sharp when cut so i used a metal file to file ends. I am pleased with first attempt. will post others as soon as take more pics. any feedback on using surgical steel? I want to solder a little dob on the end to keep beads on has anyone done that?

2437  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Jewellery I have made with amethyst chips on: July 27, 2005 10:49:05 AM
Thanks for your comments. The bracelets are made with memory wire and are thus easily multifit which make them great for gifts. I made the one with the darker amethyst chips for myself than got a strand of amethyst chips for the other to make the set of 3 for my best friend's birthday. I have learnt since that their is first  grade and second grade amethyst chips so thats why the second ones colour isn't as dark. I have made a pinkquartz one but it got snapped up by my daughters friend before i thought to take a pic, and i have 2 more I am working on. The memory wire is very hard to cut and bend, does anyone have any tips for this? cheers cyndi  Grin Smiley Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Kiss Cheesy Smiley

2439  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: purse hardware on the cheap? on: July 26, 2005 07:04:24 AM
Hi I have made some fringed purses and its simple to just stitch a few lines up and down a long strip than fringe it and attach looks nice.
Also try using thicker guage wire and bend to make a handle, add some beads for a cool trendy look.
Handles can be made from white nylon rope which can be shaped into circles and heat ends with lighter (please be careful i dont take any responsibility at your own risk etc etc) and join, than wrap fabric around can using wadding to make thicker.
Other than that make out of fabric or buy thicker ribbon etc to make them for totes. Hope these help.
