1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Chochet beads/balls. Does this look right? on: June 01, 2006 10:33:38 PM
I followed BeaG's tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=88350.0 exactly, but my stitches don't look like this (stolen one of BeaG's images sorry!)...

Instead mine look like this...

I'm fairly new to crochet so I could be asking a very silly question here. Does anyone know or can tell what I've done wrong or have I been a bid *DOH* and crocheted inside out or crocheted the top of the chain to do a DC when I should have crochted the bottom of the chain stitch for the DC? I'm suspicious that it may be the latter, but unsure.

Thanks!

Edited to change direct link to image. It's against Craftster rules to hotlink to someone elses image.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Anyone know where to get a single arrow charm? on: February 23, 2006 06:34:48 AM
Like the arrow on this Urban Outfitters necklace? All I can find anywhere are cherubs with arrows, hearts with arrows, apples with arrows etc. None just on their own and looking halfway decent.

Thanks

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Resin cabouchons for mounting etc. on: June 03, 2005 06:33:49 AM
All the resign jewellery pendants etc I've seen that have been crafted and contain images etc have been REALLY chunky. I wanted to make some round and oval resin cabs with images in them to put on mounts like these...

...but I'm worry about it being far to bulbous and heavy to work. Can you make them more shallow or do they have to be of a particular thickness at all?

4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Trapunto Quilting? on: February 07, 2005 10:51:44 AM
I've been trying to find some info on Trapunto quilting technique online, but nothing. Does anyone know any site etc on the method?

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Felting or Fulling? on: January 30, 2005 01:53:35 AM
I've always called it 'felting', but I've been told by a tutor that the proper word to use is 'fulling'. I'm slightly confused. Are they the same or slightly different techniques???

6  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / UK site for Machine Knitting supplies??? on: January 30, 2005 01:46:17 AM
Does anyone know of any UK site(s) that supply bits and bobs for knitting machines? Especially Mylar sheets, spare needles etc etc. At the moment I have to keep scouring ebay.co.uk incase appropriate stuff comes along which is annoying me at the moment Sad

7  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / One off peices on: July 25, 2004 07:21:48 AM
I'm working on a site/business at the moment and I want it to list lots of one off handmade peices (clothes, jewellery, handmade lip balms etc).

What would be the best purchase method? I've been using Paypal for a while but for ebay sales and custom orders. However because items are one offs what if I get 4 people sending payment when there is only 1 item? Is there a way to regulate this happening? Or should I just use email to process/confirm orders???
