I just love that 'pretty as a pistol' shirt! Everyone's haul was so cute in this swap. I want to do another one  Tongue

and for any psychobilly fans, I have to share this because I am still brimming with excitement...Yesterday I got to meet Patricia Day of the Horrorpops!! I narrowly missed my chance 4 years ago when my boyfriend 'didn't want to bother her and I've resented him ever since. But now I can love him again since he spotted her yesterday for me  Cheesy My psychobilly dreams have been realized and I can die happy.

I finished up 2 of my last 3 blocks today.
Here's 1b1g1k2's block. It started out as kansas troubles variation from quilterscache (the same block as athenamat) but I decided I didn't like it halfway through and just winged the rest. I'm AMAZED that it squared up!

and this is Christiantrekki's block (I think!). It's 'army star' from quilterscache. I used the velvet piece she included but it made the block asymmetrical and the psycho OCD quilter in me is freaking out!

I received from our super awesome organizer, MaxParadise today!
My themes were...
pirate ships
unicorns
cheeseburgers (hamburgers, really, but how did MaxParadise know I loved cheese?!)
flowers
maps

And she sent me...
a sweet stenciled pillowcase

the BEST stationery everrrrr. Francis Unicorn incognito! He's dressed up in a mustache, ninja costume and as a punk rocker.

A cheeseburger journal. Here I am pretending to eat it. I can't even count the pictures that I have of me, pretending to eat things.

an ipod cozy for my bruised and busted little nano. It fits perfectly, and the lining is a really cute skull print!

and finally, a headband decopauged with maps. Here is the boyfriend modeling it. If we had 6 themes, I woulda picked beards Wink

Anyway, I really love it all (especially the unicorns!) and I send a big thank you to MaxParadise!

Yay, I'm so glad you like your package, AuntieM!
The apron was my first attempt at using the bobble trim. It spoke to me when I was at the fabric store, as most things do  Roll Eyes I kept calling it 'dingleberries' at the fabric store and my boyfriend was so mortified! Poor guy. Apparently that's not the politically correct name for them!? News to me...

and here's a picture of the zippered pouch that I sent to AuntieM but stupidly forgot to send her a picture of:

and on a very sad note, as I was unmolding the gun soap my mold totally shattered and is officially out of comission for a while Sad but atleast it waited until after I was done to break!

and thanks for the kind words, ladies! I think I have spent equal or more time crafting as I have studying for finals lately. ooooops.

here's a little teaser for AuntieM...
I had to copy and paste between my photo program, paint, and powerpoint to get the tiles to work. Who needs photoshop? Me! Me! But nevertheless, consider yourself teased, AuntieM!

I made MissDisney's block today. It was challenging because there wasn't that much fabric to work with (for me, atleast) but this is what I made:

I used "King's X" from quilterscache. My boyfriend says it looks manly enough for a football quilt, but maintains that the 49ers are far superior to the Dolphins  Wink

So I got my awesome, awesome swap package from AuntieM yesterday but didn't have time to post pictures. But here they are!
She sent everything in a giant hat box and I was super excited that the box was so big. It's cause it was full of greatness.
The first thing I saw was this rockabilly angel pillow. Cause I'm a "good girl." My German roommate saw it and said "Always with the rock and roll, Ashley" and that gave me a giggle.

Then came this super cute knit purse. The lining has these sweet little cats, and there are dangly plastic cats hanging all around the opening!

Then I found this embroidered trivet. It's got really pretty sparrows on it. I don't want to put anything on it because it's so pretty.

and a much needed cherry print headband. Please excuse my extreme frumpiness today. It's 90 degrees in my normally chilly San Francisco, and I'm literally melting!

And finally, the best of all: amazing knitted dish cloths. I don't know the correct knitting terminology, but there's a martini, cherries and an anchor purled into the knitting. They're so cool. I am a horrible knitter and am completely impressed at AuntiM's knitting abilities. I will definitely NOT be using these on dishes!!

There was also an orchid hairclip and some cute ribbon that I forgot to take a picture of, but I'll do that tomorrow and add it  Smiley

all in all, I am so happy with this package! AuntieM is really awesome and totally nailed my style and did a great job. I was going to send out today, but I decided to go to the craft store and get stuff for a few more little things. I was having major swap anxiety.
THANK YOU AUNTIEM!!

I'm meeting Athenamat for lunch tomorrow and figured I should hustle and get her block done so I could save the postage  Wink

I used 'Kansas Troubles Variation' from quilterscache. The pattern looked a little frumpy online, but I had faith that her fabrics would liven it up. I really love these fabrics; I think her finished quilt is going to ruuuule.

I made another 'army star' today. This one is for Klum78. The colors were really calming to work with. It's amazing how much faster a block goes together after you've made it before. This one only took about 20 minutes! Hope you like it, Kimberly Smiley

I made my block for LouraPalmr today. It's 'Army Star' from quilterscache. The scrappyness was fun and out of the norm for me.
