1  Fifties dress help in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by juliesnider on: June 21, 2008 05:49:59 PM
We are throwing my MIL a 50's prom party for her 70th Bday next month and I'm stumped as to what to wear.  I do NOT want to do the poodle dog skirt thing.  I'll reserve that for my 6 month old girl.  Wink  I LOVE this dress!

Does anyone know of a similar pattern?  The neckline can be more simple (without the banding).

Any other ideas would be appreciated.  Any tips to find fabulous fabric would be GREATLY appreciated!

Ok...  I made the straps longer (good), put the increases/decreases on the side (good), it doesn't cover the cami as well as it did before (sad), it's not really any longer (sad), overall I'm still undecided.  I don't love it, but I think it may be wearable.  We'll just have to see.  It might be one of those things that I think I'll wear "someday" and then it just sits there in the closet mocking me!

And, I'm a complete idiot and CANNOT figure out how to post a pic.  I see the insert image button, but then it just sits there and says [img] - why can't computers just figure out what I want them to do, or at least tell me what to do!!!
