3  Emerald Entrelac Scarf! in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananasandhair on: December 11, 2012 09:20:22 AM
This is my first entrelac project and I am super proud of the way it turned out!  Grin

The edges really are straighter than the picture, but because the pattern is so puffy I couldn't get it to lay flat for me (and I really don't want to block it. lol) I used Red Heart Boutique Collection Yarn. It's a prime example of why you buy the same dye lot, but after I got going I didn't mind the changes, as I thought it brought more interest to the fun pattern.

I modified a blanket pattern to create this beauty, so I just sort of winged it.  Cheesy It was really droopy when you held it up, so I just did a single crochet edging to keep it from stretching.

I love how puffy it looks and it's really warm Smiley

4  Re: Crocheters VS Knitters Swap 2012 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by bananasandhair on: November 17, 2012 02:23:55 PM
I received from beth8144 today! The package was full of extras and was really amazing! I just hope she likes the items I sent for her!

This was a really fun way to wrap the items, I may have to do this in the future  Cheesy

Overall:

This little guy is my favorite!

Ornaments

Owl Fingerless Gloves

And the big bag was a really awesome cowl! I love how it even matches the faded purple in my hair! What a funny coincidence!

5  What happens when there's Pinterest, and your bf is playing WoW [felt flowers] in Completed Projects by bananasandhair on: October 16, 2012 09:17:11 AM
I first saw them on Pinterest, and the concept seemed simple enough. I changed them up just a little, but I wanted to share because I thought they turned out pretty well! I'm not sure what to do with them, as I'm not into brooches (they have no backing on them as of yet). Mine aren't quite as smooth as the tutorial because I used cheap craft felt from Michael's that I had sitting around. They were just a project to keep myself entertained  Grin

EDIT!: Latest attempt! Changed it up quite a bit. Took a lot longer, but totally worth the effort!

And because I like Instagram  Grin

6  Giant poofy slouchy hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by bananasandhair on: October 14, 2012 08:34:58 AM
Hat I worked up pretty quickly that I wanted to share. Nothing too fancy. I did have to rip out about 3 inches of work though, because it got a little out of hand on the slouchy-ness  Shocked I used to have a lot more hair to hold it up, but ever since I cut off 11 inches, it's made me have to re-think my hats. lol

After fighting with the local post office for forwarding my mail for NO reason at all....I received from spikefan yesterday!! Best swap package I have ever received!

The first thing I opened was my favorite! A Hello Kitty 10th Doctor!

I also received a K9 cross stitch, TARDIS knitting/crochet needle holder, and sonic screwdriver stitch markers! (I've never used stitch markers before but have always wanted some  Grin )

Thank you so much spikefan!

I'm so glad you like your package, spikefan! Here's a few pictures I took of the art, as well as how to "properly" arrange them Smiley

This one shows the color as best as I could get it...and they glow in the dark too! And so does the light on the tardis needles!

I'm loving everything in the swap! My package from spikefan is on a bit of a delay, thanks to the fools at my post office, but I've been assured that it will arrive by the weekend and I can't wait!

9  Hello Kitty! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by bananasandhair on: September 21, 2012 01:59:06 PM
I've been stalking this fabric at Joann's for awhile now, and it finally went on sale and I was able to pick it up!

Front, which looks just like the back  Wink

The sides cinch up and make pretty bows

oooh, pocket! Sized perfectly for my phone Smiley

The fabric is just some basic cotton, nothing fancy, as you can see it's fairly thin. Overall it cost less than $10 because the black contrasting fabric was from the remnants bin!

For those interested, and for the sake of crediting my source Smiley
I got the pattern from : http://sweet-verbena.blogspot.com/2012/02/its-cinch-bag-tutorial.html
