91  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Some pearls and a free morning on: July 06, 2005 11:24:54 AM
Sorry this is here and in the trinket place...I always forget there's one for beads. Anyways...

I got the urge to make some bracelets this morning and I had a bunch of pearls so these are the fruits of my labor! They're nothing special....

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y211/MegCheer/Both.jpg

The first 3 are pearls that I picked up at the store. The 2nd and 3rd ones have Swavroski crystals. The last 3 are some vintage pearls that came off of a gaudy (?) hair clip that my nanny gave me (she gave it to me for the beads, not to wear  Wink). The one with the teeny tiny pearls (4th in line) also has Swavroski...the others are just glass beads. I think some of them look a little Granny-ish but that's ok.

93  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I feel like Twiggy in this dress.... on: July 04, 2005 12:54:07 PM
I got inspired this morning (I don't know by what) and decided to make a dress (my first article of clothing made from scratch). No pattern, just my imagination. I don't think it's all that pretty but like I said,I feel like Twiggy in it.

(HORRIBLE) pic of front

(Better) pic of back (and my tan back  Wink)

It looks like I'm about to bust out of it in that pic...it is tight but not that tight.
It was such a pain in the butt to make! I poked myself w/ more pins than a acupuncturist (??) and....it was just a pain. Tongue
94  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Daddy's old shirt=My new shirt and clutch...Now w/ mini-tute on: July 03, 2005 03:19:36 PM
**9/16/05**I got a PM to put the pics back up last Friday and I said I would. I've been busy this week w/ Senior English and not feeling good the past few days but I will get the pics up tomorrow. I was going to do them today but fell asleep instead  Undecided. I'm sorry that it's taking me so long but I promise, they will be up tomorrow!**

This was a shirt of my dad's (XL). I bleached it to the light green and cut it down to fit me. I had enough to make a clutch so I did. I forgot to put both sides of the clutch on here so I'll just tell you:the side that is on here has one big star and the other side has two smaller sides. This was my first zipper insertion and I made up my own way to do it...but I think it's going to stay in OK. Wink

*The pics of the actual shirt aren't up b/c I deleted them and didn't want to take them again but the tutorial is here.*

I have been buying and making a lot of green things lately. The clutch is a little big,but that makes it perfect.....it's a clutch that I can fit my iPod in!  Wink

EDIT:Here is a mini-tute on how to make a shirt smaller and the sleeves will look fine. Please excuse the hideous color of the big shirt...it was a dark green that I bleached (w/ white intentions) but now I have to dye it.

1.Lay the shirt down.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y211/MegCheer/050917011622.jpg

2.Pick a shirt that fits you well and lay it on top of the other one. Line up the collar.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y211/MegCheer/050917011642.jpg

3.Trace it. Make sure the sleeves look like this after tracing.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y211/MegCheer/Project1.jpg

4.Cut it out just like it is....both side of the shirt at the same time.

5.Turn it inside out, line it up,and sew on the red lines, except don't sew the bottom...you can hem it if you want but I normally don't. Be careful when sewing the top of the sleeves (by the collar). Don't make a point when you start sewing or you'll have little "mountains" on you shoulders.

I really think it's the easiest way to re-con a shirt. If you have any questions,PM me!
