**9/16/05**I got a PM to put the pics back up last Friday and I said I would. I've been busy this week w/ Senior English and not feeling good the past few days but I will get the pics up tomorrow. I was going to do them today but fell asleep instead . I'm sorry that it's taking me so long but I promise, they will be up tomorrow!**
This was a shirt of my dad's (XL). I bleached it to the light green and cut it down to fit me. I had enough to make a clutch so I did. I forgot to put both sides of the clutch on here so I'll just tell you:the side that is on here has one big star and the other side has two smaller sides. This was my first zipper insertion and I made up my own way to do it...but I think it's going to stay in OK. *The pics of the actual shirt aren't up b/c I deleted them and didn't want to take them again but the tutorial is here.*
I have been buying and making a lot of green things lately. The clutch is a little big,but that makes it perfect.....it's a clutch that I can fit my iPod in!
EDIT:Here is a mini-tute on how to make a shirt smaller and the sleeves will look fine. Please excuse the hideous color of the big shirt...it was a dark green that I bleached (w/ white intentions) but now I have to dye it.
1.Lay the shirt down.http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y211/MegCheer/050917011622.jpg
2.Pick a shirt that fits you well and lay it on top of the other one. Line up the collar.http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y211/MegCheer/050917011642.jpg
3.Trace it. Make sure the sleeves look like this after tracing.http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y211/MegCheer/Project1.jpg
4.Cut it out just like it is....both side of the shirt at the same time.
5.Turn it inside out, line it up,and sew on the red lines, except don't sew the bottom...you can hem it if you want but I normally don't. Be careful when sewing the top of the sleeves (by the collar). Don't make a point when you start sewing or you'll have little "mountains" on you shoulders.
I really think it's the easiest way to re-con a shirt. If you have any questions,PM me!
