21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Cabled Newsboy! on: February 14, 2009 10:14:19 AM
I love it! Everything about it! I'm totally envious of people who can do cables, I love them so. (OK ok, so I'm envious of people who can knit anything other than scarves because that's all I can do.  Wink)
22  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Make Me A Reusable Shopping Bag Swap Round 2, Sendouts 3/15 - FULL on: February 11, 2009 09:49:03 AM
I couldn't find this thread and was freaking out because, for whatever reason, I thought sendouts were this weekend! I was about to have to bust my butt, lol.

*whew*  Wink

23  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Legality of using pred-made products with your craftrs (Felted soap) on: February 09, 2009 10:52:16 AM
I was going to suggest finding a soap seller on Etsy (or any indie soap maker) that could maybe work with you on soaps. That way you guys could cross-promote each other. CraftyChef sort of suggested that.  Wink

25  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: twitter on: January 06, 2009 12:07:18 PM
I haven't had any sales through Twitter but I haven't written about shop stuff much lately. I didn't like it at first but now I love it!

26  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Store Blog vs. Personal Blog on: January 06, 2009 12:05:27 PM
I have both. I don't get too personal on my personal blog but I like my shop blog to be for updates, new items, giveaways, etc.

That's not really any help, huh?  Undecided
27  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Buttons on curtains on: January 03, 2009 11:28:27 PM
I made a curtain for my one kitchen window. Since our kitchen has an accidental aqua and red theme, I used red and white houndstooth fabric but couldn't for the life of me find the right shade of aqua fabric or ribbon to accent with so I got some cute buttons to go sew on there.

I can't figure out a way to make the buttons look good!

I have 10 vintage aqua colored buttons on their way to me and I have 10 other aqua buttons (and a few pink) to put on there. Any ideas? I thought about just making them cascade down one side but it didn't look quite right (maybe because all the buttons aren't here?) I also didn't like them in rows. The shape of the curtain is just a rectangle.

Help a sister out?

30  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Velcro Dots on: December 29, 2008 11:26:46 PM
I know i'm late but I thought I'd add my experiences with Velcro, too. The sticky velcro doesn't work stick on fabric well at all. I also use the regular velcro and sew it on with my machine. I put a little strip of fabric glue onto the velcro and stick it to the fabric and let it dry before sewing. It stays put while I'm sewing!
