arcticmouse- I thought it was called an awl but I wasn't sure.

lynner4- I'll have to look on her website to see how she did it. I'll also have to look for some PVA glue. The double sided tape that I have is pretty flat since it's main purpose is for scrapbooking.

I am SO excited about this. I've been wanting to try journal/book making for a while and yesterday I bought one of those things that your can poke holes through paper with (it looks like a pen...can someone please tell me the proper name for it?) Anyway, I made this little book this morning. It's not perfect but I'm reallllly proud.

The back...how are you supposed to tie off the ends? I didn't know what to do so I just knotted it twice and tied a bow.

And some messy corners. Anyone have any tips on how to make them less messy and more finished looking? I made the covers by Mod Podging paper to pieces of paperboard. Next time I think I'll try my double-stick tape because it's less messy and holds better than Mod Podge. Any other advice is greatly appreciated!

Great idea to use the pillow fabric for the curtain loops.  Constructive criticism here...you need a curtain loop at both edges of each side of the curtain panel-4 more loops per window.  This will allow the curtains to hang better and cover the window more completely. You could add them now if you have more fabric.

I realized that after I had them hung up. Unfortunately, I used all of the French wallpaper fabric. 

We're newlyweds, first house, etc. etc. so I was super excited to decorate. I picked Amy Butler's French Wallpaper to do the pillows and the top loops of the curtains. The actual curtains are Amy Butler's solid in linen. (I think it's linen, it might be celery.) Anyway, on to the pics!
