My name is Cassandra, which isn't all that unique, more unusual I guess. It is greek for "phophetess of doom". I really love my full name - Cassandra Elise, but I go more often by Cassie.
Yeah, can't find that anywhere. A lot of Casey...no Cassie.
Yeah, my name is Cassie too (actually a nickname for Catherine, but that's another story for another day). At my work, people always call asking for "Cathy" because apparently they can't read my card that clearly says "Cassie". It kills me. I get faxes to "Kathy Cassie", my only assumption is that me spelling my name so that they know what it is implies that I am actually spelling my last name. Even though I also said, "no, with s's, not a t. h. Yes! My name is spelled C A S S I E. Uh huh, that's right." If my mom didn't go by Cath, I probably wouldn't care, but we work in the same industry and people already call HER Cathy too.
My favorite nickname is Cassafrass, hence my nickname on here, but I have to admit that it always cracks me up when people call me Cass-hole. (Get it? Cass. Hole. Casshole. Hee.)
My last name is Shook... that's a killer too. I used to get "Hey Casey! Shake!" Then I'd wiggle a little and they'd say "Ha! Ha! Cassie Shook!" Then they'd all start singing "I'm all shook up" and I'd pretend it had never been sung to me before. (No, that's a lie. By the time I was 8 I'd sarcastically respond that "I've never heard THAT before").
Ah... the wonders of weird names and what our friends do with them!
