I just gave it to her taht day. It was an early birthday present.

Well I guess you couldn't put anything really large or /and heavey but it could hold a change purse and a make up bag. It would be a nice purse for a special occasion or something.

It actually isn't that scratchy! Although it is stretchy, and delicate.

Materials Used

• * 2 1/2 Balls of Pink/Redish Raffia (NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE)
• 1 Large Knitting Needle
• 1 Small Knitting Needle
• One Large Button
• Cardboard (Optional: Used to make Pom-Pom)

This is Raffia (for those that don't know) except we used Redish/ Pink raffia!

Step -by- Step

Cast on (Purse): 20 Stitches with 1 large knitting needle & 1 small needle.
Cast on (Strap): Smaller Needles used with 6 stiches for strap.
Envelope Flap: Envelope flap was made by decreasing stiches either side.
Pom Pom: An attempted pom-pom adds the finishing touch to the loop & button which secures flap.

This was a difficult knitting challenge for me, as I have never experimented with different textures. The raffia almost broke my hands. When my grandson suggested that I should take part in this challenge, I couldn't sleep because I was trying to think of the perfect substitute for yarn. I didn't sleep all night, so I went to the dollar store to see if I could find anything. * I purchased the pink raffia at my local dollar store, Buck-Os! This raffia was made in the Phillapines 9(don't know how to spell it). The pruse may be used either with the strap or tuck strap inside for evening wear. I really enjoyed this challenge!

This is the front of it.

At the bottom of the clock, is a timeline of his career in the 80's! Here it is!

The numbers on the outside(well, there is no numbers) are the names of songs that featured on the album "Thriller".

And the arms of the clock are Peter Pan and the shiny glove he wore!

This project took about a week to finish because of all of the supplies I needed to purchase. This project wasn't so cheap to do because of the clock mechanism. The project itself is pretty self explanitory, because it is a simple object but it looks complicating. I chose to do Michael Jackson because, I just purchased a IPod Shuffle and the music I first put on was Michael Jackson. That inspired me! While I made this clock, I listened to him so I could brainstorm some ideas and complete it with the Jackson twist I wanted.

Many of you think that this thread is the challenge it self, but back to reality, it isn't! The one and only craftster hasn't made it a challenge. It is just a bunch of suggestions.
