Sure! These are a couple I took when I finished. I'll be taking some better shots to go with the charts soon.

Daughter's BF loves Super Mario Brothers. So I made him a Mario scarf for Christmas.

This is worsted weight yarn, with a plain black back, so it's super warm.

So, I've been dying to post my Christmas knitting, but I couldn't because some of the recipients are on Craftster and might see!  But now, gifts have been given and I can show you what I've been up to.

First, the Police Line Scarf for my daughter, who says this is the best scarf ever. This pattern came from Craftzine. Knitted in I Love This Yarn. It's basically doubled over, so it's a very warm scarf.

And for my son, Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate! This scarf is my own design, influenced by other Dalek scarves I saw here and elsewhere. I hand charted those Daleks on graph paper and added oh, about 10 or 12 Exterminate!s in the middle. Again, I Love This  Yarn (which is very soft, btw) and it's doubled over. I hope to have a pattern for this up on my blog soon. I just need to recreate those charts in Excel.

And The Tentacle Scarf, for my daughter's boyfriend. Again, my own design. It was based on a conversation we had back in the summer about tentacles and their place in anime. I hand wrote the pattern for this one too. If I can decipher my handwriting (I swear sometimes it looks like I escaped from Arkham Assylum only long enough to write a note!) I will post that pattern, too.

Ah yes. That is Achilles. He "helps" me with my knitting.

My husband and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Instead of the traditional party, we decided to spend a weekend in Chicago. The highlight was going to be a champagne dinner cruise. However, things came up, and we had to postpone our trip.

No worries, though. We went out for dinner together, and when we got home, our children had decorated the dining room. In the center of the table was this cake, made by our daughter's bf.

It's a cruise ship! (And there we are, in the water.)

He's very creative, that boy. He previously made a mother board birthday cake:

[Cables Untangled]

My son loves all things Celtic, so I wanted to make him a scarf with some kind of braided cable pattern on it. Now, don't get me wrong. I love cables. But let me tell you, a 6 foot scarf with an intricate cable pattern is enough to make you wonder why you ever thought that was a good idea. 



It took several tries to find just the right cable pattern. Not too skinny, not too wide... The frustration fuelled a couple of blog posts. 

Anyway. This one was just right. It's from Melissa Leapman's Cables Untangled. It was actually part of the cable motif on the front of a man's sweater. Then I added some twists and some purls and a border.

It's Bernat Cashmere Natural Blends in Coal. The scarf took about 3.75 skeins. I had another left over, so I decided to make a matching hat.


This time, I used the same cable pattern I used on the scarf and stood it up vertically on the hat. The rest of the hat is 2X2 rib. This took the one whole skein and what was left from the scarf.

So, after I finished knitting a purse the other night, my hands still wanted to knit. So I knocked out this little phone cozy. It looks like a behive.

(There's a story behind it, kinda. But it's kinda lame.)

It's a small amount of Red Heart (because my phone is okay with acryllic) and it took about an hour to do. I wrote out a pattern and posted on my blog, if you want to know the particulars.

The embroidery was the biggest time consumer. Unfortunately, I was a little sketchy on my embroidery skills. I had some bee pins, but then I decided not to use them for fear they would scratch my phone.

My son's birthday was Wednesday so I made him this:

It's Tsantsa, from The AntiCraft.  I added a set of dice and now he has the coolest dice bag ever!

Why am I making hats for my cats? They have never given me any reason to suspect that they might want one. And yet... This is number 2.

Zeus is really enjoying all the celebrity he got from his hat (http://knit4freedom.blogspot.com/2008/04/international-zeus-hat.html) and I think Gracie wanted in on it.

Okay, that's not true. She doen't care about hats at all. But it's her ...uh..."friendly time" of the season, so she was very amenable to wearing anything I put on her head, with no questions asked. http://knit4freedom.blogspot.com/2008/04/international-cat-hat-part-deux.html

Once again, the pattern is from Wild Tomato http://www.spindlesandspices.blogspot.com/. It's some random, label-ripped-off-of-it-long-ago acryllic from my stash and I knitted it on dpns a couple sizes down from whatever the pattern says because I have such a loose guage.

Pretty scarf! Love that color.
