1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Reupholstering a Ruffled Rocking Chair on: February 25, 2013 04:16:26 PM
Hey guys, I'm looking to recover this cool rocking chair I bought off Craigslist.
I, however, am unsure how to reupholster these ruffle-like padded bumps. I'm sure I can wing it, but is there a specific way I can do it without screwing it up and wasting too much time?
Any ideas would help. Thanks.  Smiley

3  COOKING / Dessert / Christmas Candies? on: November 30, 2007 04:50:18 PM
For Christmas I want to make gift bags of different candies to my friends. I at least know I'll make peppermint bark. But I can't think of what else would be good and would hold up well. Any suggestions?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Don't know where to start in making a Confederate/Civil War dress.. on: September 15, 2007 11:06:25 AM
I'm thinking about dressing up for halloween as a confederateish girl. Dead one of course. If you've seen 2001 Maniacs, I want to look kind of like one of those girls except not alive. I want the dress to have the confederate flag and everything. I just can't figure out where to start. I doubt I'll start from stratch, but I don't know where to buy a dress similar to one of that era that isn't real expensive.. and I'll probably get fake blood all over it so I don't want it to have a lot of value anyway besides sentimental lol, any ideas?
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / For an art project: I need something that rotates or moves... on: September 05, 2007 01:18:19 PM
We're doing a project in art and since we're the advanced class she wants us to put in something that either lights up or moves. I'm planning on using something that is moving. Now I'm not completely sure if you're going to understand that.. but I just need to figure out how [and most importantly WHAT] to put in a piece of small equipment deal.. almost like clock works, that will help move something inside of a art sculpture-like thing. (it'll mostly be painted and [designy stuff added]cardboard.) I'm not sure if you'll understand, but I really don't know who else to be asking. haha. You artsy people have done some unusual things, I bet.. If you know something at all, do tell. Smiley
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Severed Hand, Anyone? [IMGs] on: August 26, 2007 07:54:43 AM
So, last Sunday.. I was bored. I got the idea in my head to make a severed zombie hand. Something I learned in art was to make an armature. And since I didn't have anything to make a mold out of, I think I did pretty good. And, I didn't like the green zombie color I used, so I painted over it in skin tone.. I may go back with a green wash to make it more zombie-esque instead of a normal .. severed hand.  Roll Eyes

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Yolk Tops? on: August 18, 2007 03:25:44 PM
I love Yolk tops, they're just adorable.. and I want to make one, because well.. I can never find them to buy.. when I do see one they're expensive as hell. I just can't figure out how to make one, even on here I haven't seen a real clear tutorial so far. I would like to see one with maybe step by step pictures, hopefully.. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Thanks.
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Where did you get your furniture? on: July 23, 2007 04:52:24 PM
Lots of you on here have gotten furniture from family members, garage sales, sides of the road even! And I would hopefully get furniture that way when I move out, because furniture these days is soo expensive!

So, where'd you get yours?
9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Show me your doodles! on: July 22, 2007 06:53:00 PM
Alright, well.. I was realizing the other day that I doodle way too much, and I definitely go into my own little world when I do it. Mostly during school. This is one I did last year during Algebra II. Needless to say, I'm not much for math.  Roll Eyes

Maybe I'm weird, but I always thought doodles said a lot about a person, [is that lame?]. Ha, anyway, I bet a lot of you doodle, so show me!

(after seeing the word doodle so many times it started to look like doodie. hahaha. Just thought I'd point out. Wink)
10  COOKING / Dessert / Luau/Hawaiian theme cake ideas? on: July 21, 2007 05:44:30 PM
Okay, I got a little excited and decided I'd make a cake for my sister's friend for her 21st birthday. She's having a themed birthday party that's a Luau/Hawaiian, whatever you wanna call it. So any really fun ideas for it?
