SqueakyWeasels, out of curiosity, how did you right the twist? I've been lucky enough to not have to deal with that, but I'd be interested to know how you fixed it.
212  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Come one come all post your new tattoo IDEAS! on: July 16, 2005 10:55:19 PM
Oooh, what a great thread! My two cents:
The tattoo I'm getting in December/January is the phrase "to be free" in Sinhala, the language and alphabet of Sri Lanka, where I'm spending a semester starting in three weeks (eeeeeee!).  It's the most gorgoues script, based on swirls and curlicues, so hopefully people will think it's an abstraction and not pull on me to try to figure out what it says.  I'm planning on getting it between my shoulderblades where wings would grow.
After that, I'm not sure where this is going, but it's going somewhere:

Minus all the stuff about Entertainment Weekly, because I'm thinking that might be a little weird to catch a glimpse of every once in a while.  Anyone else gotten a Shel Silverstein tat?
213  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re: Alice in Wonderland. on: July 15, 2005 05:44:40 PM
You got my interest up, so I did an image search on Google and this was my favorite, by far:

which, with a little work, could be an amazing stencil.  Hmmm, maybe I'll work on that.

I'm swatching it today and I'm getting 32 stitches for gauge with my yarn on #2s. The pattern says 31, but that's close enough, right? I'm really bad at swatching (er, meaning I never do it when I'm supposed to).
Yeah, that sounds about right.  I agree with you about the tininess of the gauge, though.  When I bought the yarn at Halcyon (being lucky enough to be about forty-five minutes away from the Motherstore--the only place I have ever been overwhelmed by fibers), I was like, "WTF.  I'm knitting with floss."

Yay Hush Hush! I started this in December sometime in a gorgeous chocolate brown, but have currently misplaced the really huge spool of yarn that I need to keep going. . . so it's sitting in my room on my pile of projects.  The lace was a pain, even if very very pretty.  Let me know how you find it!

What colors are you making your mom's?

Love the lovely Cascade in 2401 (main color) and 9401 (complimentary).  The former is a gorgeous raspberry red, lighter than in the swatch, with a light heathery gray.  Very pretty.

I immediately saw it and went, "ooh! That could be girly!" and made my mom go out and buy yarn she liked since she's in need of a new purse and I like to spoil her.  Anyone else trying it?
