1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: $1 Refinished Teacup Set on: July 04, 2011 09:48:11 AM
You can if you're just using them as art; once the pens are baked it becomes dishwasher safe, and (I believe) food safe. It says no health labeling required on the pen??

You bake it in a 325 degree oven for 40 minutes. MAKE SURE! That you put the cup/plate/whatever in the oven before you heat it up, and when it's done baking, turn off the oven and wait until it's completely cooled to take it out. This will prevent it from cracking.

So, my friend was talking one day about how she likes stuff with this design, then how she loooves tea, then we went to a thrift store and saw these plain white teacups and she said how cute they were. I picked them up and said I loved them, too, and I was getting them.  Little did she know, later that day I also got porcelain paint pens Smiley I am so excited. Each teacup was 50 cents at the thrift store and the pens were $3 each, and I only used two colors. They're so easy to use; I haven't baked them yet like you're supposed to but I'm done painting them finally!
I'm planning to get her a cute purple porcelain teapot and some fancy tea for the rest of her gift Smiley Too bad I have to wait until February to give it to her!!

Slightly offtopic, but the reason you don't like mirrors has me disliking the mirrors in my room now, too! I never thought about that! I've thought about it when I'm showering late at night, the mirror freaks me out then but.. ahhh:(

Anyway! I love what you did with it! Smiley

This is really cool!!!

My boyfriend used to have a Grand National, his dream car.. until it got stolen and parted out.  I've been thinking of possibly knitting him one for a while and this totally inspires me to do it.. Do you have any tips on making the wheels and such?

So I guess I didn't create this hair style.. But the blue faded really weird. It faded kinda like this, then I tried to dye blond over it, and... it's basically still this but the blond is more ashy. Hahahaha. I don't know if it's because of alcohol in the hairspray I use or something? I have NO IDEA how it did this.

I'm not sure what I think of it. I don't hate it for sure but I'm not sure how much I like it!

I meant to go blond, then it was really red because I dyed it red not too long before bleaching it (God forbid I use a color stripper first Tongue) and I didn't feel like fixing it so here we go!

It's faded to a kind of turquoisey color with hints of purple and teal and green. I really love it Smiley
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: THE GENERIC GIRLFRIEND THREAD (FOR LESBIANS, BISEXUALS AND MALES) on: January 03, 2009 09:34:44 PM
I was making her Musica mittens (http://coalabaer.wordpress.com/anleitungen-pattern/) but we broke up for real this time. She was gonna still get them, but then she decided to make everything difficult, so I now have all my stuff back Smiley

They're now for my best friend hahaha.

Just updating.

And if it needs to relate more, my best friend is my ex. hahaha. Funny how that works.
