This is a swap for newbies so they can get started on their swapping careers. You will make your specialty craft, or what you consider to be your best craft and trade for someone else's best craft. I will try to pair people up so they get something they want or couldn't make for themselves. I am not setting standards for how much is to be sent out. Please discuss this with your partner. The only requirement is that both projects have around the same work/effort/time/money. If you don't think you sent enough after you receive, send a lttle thank you to them with a surprise. A DC is required for anything sent within the US.

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Summer fun Swap on: February 28, 2006 12:55:51 PM
What about a swap where you would make thing summer realted. Everyone could make/ buy/ reconstruct a beach bag and fill it with summer goodies. For example you could include:
-sunglasses
-swimsuit cover up or sundress
-sunscreen/ tanning lotion
-book
-jewelry
-beach towel
-out of ideas, but you'll think of something great

The summertime makes me happy so I think it would be cool to receive a big bag full of fun stuff to do during the summer.
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Macrame Purse on: February 15, 2006 03:36:53 PM
I have been making these purses for a while but never gotten around to posting them. They are great summer projects especially when you can sit outside in the sun. While you are making them they can be messy because I use jute, but when I'm finished they never shed.
There are a lot of differnet linings. All are reversible and are attached to the inside of the bag with buttons, so you can have many different colors to coordinate all of your outfits. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, my digital cammera isn't working.        Comments are appreciated.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Swim team tutus on: January 15, 2006 07:08:38 AM
The girls swim team always dresses up as something for the guys HHC (Hoosier Hills Conference) and Sectional meet. The guys actually came to ours this year so we have to think of something really great (They wore their speedos and suspenders). The girls decided to make tutu's and volunteered me with their help so I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions on how to make them, other than just a lot of skirts layered on top of each other. Is there an easy way to get them to stay up like this one:

I was thinking it may work to just gather it a lot so it stays up, but I don't sew very often so I don't know.

This is what my second option would be If the first idea doesn't go over very well. I thought this was a great pic to describe it, only it's the girls team:

(What a coincidence, this is another random picture I found on the internet haha, our guys will have to borrow our new tutus sometime lol)
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Lampworked Beads on: December 26, 2005 02:41:01 PM
What about a swap where we traded some glass beads we have made. Is anyone interested? When? How many to trade?
9  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Challenge 1 of Project Runway on: November 06, 2005 06:29:08 AM
On the show project runway the contestants were taken to a local grocery store and said they had to make an outfit out of anything in the store. We could say what could be used though, because stores sell such a variety of things, there could be a grocery list and you could use anything on that list such as cans, plastic bottles (ketchup, mustard...), styrofoam from meat packaging, trashbags, ect...
