Hello!

Im a uni student and we always get stuck with really nasty furniture in our rooms, this year my desk chair was a horrible flaking brown thing with a nasty scratchy stained cream cushion cover so I sanded, painted and re-upholstered it! What do you think?

Well I received my lovely swap package from SaphireFaerie, it's took me about a week to work out how to make my camera work with my new laptop but finally I've done it! Here's me modeling my favourite item! A close up f the potions earrings that I had wisted, SaphireFaerie must have stalked my wists! And finally a picture of everythng together, d dumbledores army t-shirt, my awesome reversible gryffindor bag, my scarf, the cool jewellery box, with potions earrings, some really yummy smelling candles (and yes, i think thats how the gryffindor common room would smell too, all autumny and like cinnamon and pumpkin!) some gummy snakes, some potions bottles filled with sherbert and lots of koolaid and chocolate!

5  Bannana bread! in Dessert by fifiramone on: January 21, 2007 05:14:18 PM
Recently I've become a bit of a banana bread monster and I bake it every week, so i thought i'd share the recipe!

3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup)
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
(optional) Mixed fruits- I use saltanas, raisins and dried citrus peel.
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cup of flour
No need for a mixer for this recipe. Preheat the oven to 350F. With a wooden spoon, mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla.Add the cinnamon. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour, mix then fold in the mixed fruit. Pour mixture into a buttered 4x8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve.

And here's a picture of my bread

And me displaying it beautifully:

10  Tiny origami stars! in Valentine's Day by fifiramone on: January 21, 2007 04:31:45 PM
Hi,

Well I made this for my boyfriend for our anniversary in december but I thought i'd share it incase it helps give anyone ideas for valentines day!

On the piece of card, I explained the story behind lucky stars, there's a particular day in the japanese year called 'Tanabata' or 'star day' where they believe that many years ago, a girl and a boy worked for a god, i think he was a shepherd and she was a maid. They were very lonely until one day they met and fell in love, their work suffered so the god seperated them. They were seperated by a milky way, and on this day every year the japanese wish for clear skies so they can cross the milky way. I said that in the jar I had made a wish on every star in the milky way so we would never be parted, its a bit cheesy but let me know what you think!
