1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: clever ideas for dad's birthday invite? on: June 05, 2007 03:37:08 AM
It's going to be an open house and we weren't really going to have a theme but we're thinking of going with denim table cloths and the overall thing now. The guest book will be on a table with photos under vinyl, on top of the denim.  Tractors and wagons on the table for mints and nuts maybe?  Every little boy there is going to love to play with them though.....

I love the pocket invite!  Any ideas on how to achieve the overall buttons? Or work around them?

why not use proper buttons? cheap and authentic!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Pin Up Girl party! on: June 05, 2007 03:35:42 AM
i reckon the cheapest and best thing to do would be to make millions of pac man shapes, buy bumper packs of sequins/material/feathers/whatever else and make pasties. Its so fun!
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: LOOK!! My GCSE art work- do you like??!! (image abundant!) on: June 04, 2007 01:03:31 PM
those are good associations! GCSE art is all about bloody associations between your work and other work and things, so its a shame i didnt hear what you thought before it was all sent away to be marked!

I dont know if americans will know what GCSE's are- theyre basically end of school exams when you're 15-16. Sorry if thats obvious!.. What do you lot have?

Anyway, I digress. Heres some of my art work, based around anatomy, and the last photos are on architecture. Im really hoping to go to the Fashion university in London after my a levels.. what do you guys think of my stuff so far? Thanks!

Acrylic painting (apologies its a bit blurry)-

Computer manipulation.. the central skull is basically a mix of a photo of a model skull and my friends face in profile... the middle circle is a detail on an old gravestone and the other stuff is a mixture of medieval drawings of hell and tombs near where I live. This was my final piece which I did in quill and ink..

Photograph... based on Veruschka transformations (google her! Grin)
I made the dress and coated it in paint, grit etc to look like the wall... the girl model is my friend...

Anyway, thanks for looking! And as I say-- comments/criticisms appreciated!

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Make something for my room swap? on: May 31, 2007 10:35:04 AM
I dont think this has been done before, thought it'd be pretty good.

swappers take a few photos of their room-- bedrooms would be good but any room would do-- and then partner makes items to go into/match that room, e.g. pillows, artwork etc...

What do you lot think??
xx
