1  There is a House in New Orleans... in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by xstillxherex72 on: January 11, 2006 03:41:30 PM
...they call the Rising Sun.
And it's been the ruin a-many poor boys,
And God, I know I'm one.

So anyways, since thats my most recent obsession, I've decided to make a peice of art that represents it or whatever. Sorry guys but I'm going to have to link to it. Hope you enjoy it. Oh, and you can zoom in on it, too.

much love Smiley

2  After much procrastination....yo ho! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by xstillxherex72 on: October 31, 2005 03:47:53 AM
So i'm finally done my pirate costume! just in time, too.

i had to buy the sickle Sad but this is the main thing! yay! can you tell its a pirate? the makeup isnt on in this pic.

another angle

combat boots, red fishnets, and black tights that i cut and added holes to. mom also taught me how to embroider, so i also put some red X's on there. the material is exactly what i was looking for Smiley the purple and blue sashs are ribbons.

the ruffles i didnt make - i got it at atlantic fabrics. the "shrug" coat is a blazer  i cut. mom had to sew on the ruffles, cause i had no clue how. the pin is one i found at a thrift store. and lots of beads. i also added striped triangles of fabric to the end of the sleeves to make them wider. my shirt is just a striped tank.

the red sash is off a bathrobe  Roll Eyes

much love

i'll probably get some more pics from today.

5  Re: Tie Dye doesn't have to be tacky... in Dyeing: Completed Projects by xstillxherex72 on: October 17, 2005 12:02:52 PM
well here is the pic. i have a pic with my parents in it, and it was better to show how i thought that it was the place you were...but...oh well.

so we were just on one of the mountains, there was a road leading to a look out point. if we took the pic further back and somehow cut out the Golden Gate, i think it would look like your  place.  Roll Eyes

I love those witches, all the time I have been a witch in the past (from the made out of garbage bag on of my youth to the sexy corset ones) were never that original.

I made a scarecrow costume for my sun which is pretty cool but so far I just take it out of the drawer and he hides from me… toddler temper.  He was really cute in his monkey costume I did for him last year.

For myself I am sewing leaves on a dress and will become a fall goddess/faerie, giant pile of leaves not sure yet how it will turn out.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww soooo cute! and your idea sounds good Smiley

i'm making my own pirate costume. i drew up a pic of it too: (the one colored was the original, the one not colored is slightly modified so i don't freeze. also, instead of making the blouse, im using a horizontal striped tank top.
so, the digi killed some of the detail, but you get the picture.
color:

b&w:

oh, and the bodies aren't my drawings, i traced them to draw the outfits on Smiley
ok, so what its going to be made up of is:
-striped tank top
-vinyl brown corset
-patchwork skirt
-combat boots
-torn fishnets, diamond socks, and spandex leggings
-blazer-shrug with lengthened sleeves and corset
-various jewelry, cutlass, sash, doo-rag or wrap

and thats pretty much it Smiley any one know where i can get some vinyl?

10  Jordy's Galore EXTREME IMG HEAVY. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by xstillxherex72 on: September 17, 2005 01:26:48 PM
Sooo here's some Jordy's I've been making. All the fabric is second hand Smiley

Sesame Street - Zoe and someone else. I might make a smaller one of this fabric for my neice, her fave characters are Zoe and Elmo, shes almost 3 Smiley

lining

Blue cord. Ugly choice for lining.

yucky orange lining Sad

Green one. I'm planning on adding a patch/fabric flower on it made from polka dot and scrap houndstooth material.

Lining, same green.

Rainbow & denim. The rainbow is from sheets, the denim from my brother's jeans. He faded them out too Smiley

Lining

3 other Jordy's - two identical grey and pink pinstripe for lining, and one denim and green lining. denim used from brother's jeans again.

Lining of denim one.

So anyways, these are all for TAWL, my chairty to sell. How much would you pay for it?

much love
