511  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re: "stenciling" with glue. on: July 06, 2005 04:01:29 PM
my sister once gave me a 'tatoo' with glue that she colored with markers as she put it on my ankle... wow playing with glue is fun.

i think thats very neat. id have to try it, but it seems like it would work well for stenciling... the only part i think i would have trouble with would be getting the glue off before it dried (as you said you did). but other than that, it seems like it would work well.

thanks for the great idea!
512  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: First completed project : Scarf on: July 06, 2005 03:05:17 PM
i never could knit well... my first project, i started off with 10 stiches and ended it with about 200 (not kidding). but i was 7 or so, so i guess its forgivible.

needless to say, i havent attempted much knitting since i was a kid, but thats such a pretty scarf, and i have a scarf obsession, so i think i just may have to try this!

great job

that fabric looks amazing, i think it fades as it goes down? love it.

great job on making your first dress, especially without a pattern. its an interesting experiance, isnt it, not using a pattern? my first skirt i just made up as i went along... my god did that take forever. but a dress - wow. great job!

516  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: My guitar bag on: June 29, 2005 09:04:03 AM
snazzy!
you can definately tell its a guitar. whats the guitar made out of, fabric? its very shiney. i like it hah.
whats the bag going to be used for? probably not my choice of color for the bag, but thats just me. i like it though, well done! youre much braver than i am, id be terrified to try and dedicate a bag to something as great as guitar.

518  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / how to bleach one section of denim? on: June 26, 2005 11:11:12 AM
hi there

im in the process of making a skirt out of an old pair of jeans. this isnt your typical cut-off-the-legs-and-insert-triangle-to-make-it-a-skirt type of skirt, but a more complicated one...

anyways, my point is that i used pieces of denim from all over my old pair of jeans, and this one particular piece is much darker than the rest of the denim that i used. the way i sewed it all on one side looks a bit weird, so i was wondering how i might be able to lighten up that one section of my skirt (i should have done this before i sewed it all together, i know...) to get as close in color to the rest of the denim without ruining my entire skirt... would one of those bleaching pens work? i dont want it to lighten up too much, thats my problem. any help is greatly accepted!

thanks
