Saucer Skirt = 1 roll duct tape, 2 wire hangers
Space boots = 1 pair knee high fashion boots, 2 garbage bags for base, 1 roll duct tape.

Pink Venus Girl Skin = 2 pairs pink tights, little bit of blush

Can't wait till next year!!!

Faces for fun!! My face was really pink, but you can thank flash!

I was in the Castro Party (San fran, CA) from 11pm-3am!!
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Stressed, my Singer broke!! on: September 26, 2005 09:19:47 AM
I am freaking out. My 20 y/o Singer broke the other day. First problem with it ever!

The mech. that spins to catch the bobbin thread through the needle is off time. It will spin in time, then pause for a sec, then when the needle goes down it will miss the holes and hit the metal.

I called the closest sewing machine repair (30 mins away) and they tried to tell me a service would cost $125 and any other repairs would stack ontop of that!? I can't afford a full service. I just want the bobbin in time so I can sew.

I don't know what to do, and neither does anyone in my house.

Any help?

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / copy or common designs on: August 04, 2005 10:06:14 AM
I am nervous about making bags for my company. I am Afraid that other designers will think that I am coping their designs.

My plans are to stick to the basic and common  bag designs (jordy, messanger, clutch, duffel, tote) with appliques of my companies logos and/or indie scene mascots. Bags with and without piping. I plan to work with vinyl and vinyl only. The problem is that I can only fins vinyl in the very few colors it comes in, so allot of my bags will be the same colors as other designers bags.

I just need opinion about this bag design thing.

When is it a copy and when is it just a turn on a basic design?

I don't want to step on anyones toes!

Thanks in advance!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / surging on: July 26, 2005 08:26:24 AM
I know they have sewing machines and sergers. But how do you get the look of serging on a garmet with a sewing machine? I am wondering because I want to do a t-shirt recon. design that requires serging...and well, I only have a sewing machine...

Let me know if you can help me out!
Thanks!

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My second and third bags! lots of pictures, and blurry ones on: July 26, 2005 07:17:04 AM
sorry for the blurry pic. I was in a hurry in the middle of the night to send some pic to a fellow craftster, and I decided to show other poeple..

33, My project is a music and art promotions project. So my tream goes to alot of concerts. So this was my inspired solution to bulky bags at concerts...

I was greatly inspired to make bags that are animal friendly...the rest of my life is that way so why shouldnt my bags be. It's a great thing that animal free products are popular right now!

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / ballet top on: July 22, 2005 08:32:18 AM
ok, so i have tried to search this but no luck on a good tutorial...but
My favorit top is a ballet top, I have one and it fits my body type well.

I have trouble buying clothes in stores because I am tall with a long torso and arms.

My b/f has a bunch of t-shirts that he doesnt wear anymore and I wanted to try some t-shirt surgery but so far I have no luck.

Does anyone know of any tutorials/ patterns/ instruction on how to make my b/f t-shirts into my ballet shirt?
I have tried "ohmystars.net" but the pictures are too general. I cant seem to get the sleeves or the arm holes correct..
