1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: What are you making for Christmas this year (2008)? on: November 07, 2008 03:41:53 PM
i bought 50 crystal nail files online from ebay and with shipping each one only cost around 75 cents. (there are different sizes you can buy but i really like the small ones to put in your purse) i will paint designs on the ends with enamel paints and maybe even add some rhinestones. this will take care of all the my friends at work, both my daughters friends and family. they are perfect to put in a card for gift giving or you can add them to other things like hand lotions etc to make a gift basket. i went to a festival this year and saw booths that sold these but the size i bought they sold for $5 each.

very neat! i didn't even know there were such things to put on crocs in the first place. i would try your market first to see how they go. in other words i wouldn't buy 1000 backs/plugs or whatever they are called to start out with.  Smiley

10  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Need Inspiration for What to Do With Old Military Uniform on: January 22, 2006 08:47:51 PM
i would glue the patches, name tags, rank etc on a store bought photo album with E6000 glue.  another idea for the uniforms could be braid or crochet them into a rug. it would be very durable-a quilt might be too heavy unless you are only making a throw.  brown and gray tees also look awesome crocheted. my husband just started his terminal leave last week and we are at disney world for his retirement vacation!!!
