i wanted to make a book for my friend because she is moving away, so i searched craftster for some basic tutorials. i could only find ones where you have to sew the cardboard to the fabric, but i dont think my grandma will like the idea of me putting cardboard into her sewing machine. any ideas? can i just glue it with rubber cement, or will it leak through? how about if i put interfacing on it first?

27  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / my first REAL bag/clutch/wristlet/whatever on: August 01, 2005 03:48:09 PM
after many many hours hunched over on my evil sewing machine, im proud to announce that i made a new bag! i actually made it smaller than i planned and the sewing is pretty craptastic. my handle is starting to fall off and there are holes near the zippers. boo. but i still love it. i used this thread  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22875.0 to help me.

29  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / help: im creating a sketchbook out of an old picture book. how do i bind it? on: June 30, 2005 12:38:24 AM
i was helping my old teacher and i scored some cool old books!! i tore out the pages and i am planning to fill them with blank paper to make a sketchbook for my friend. since, i really like it and i want to show it off  Grin... heres how it looks like so far (its not a lot)(click on them for a bigger pic):

thats the inside with a insert thingy that i made. it has pockets (and a felt squid! im so proud of that) so that she can put her pencils and stuff. the paper is going to be under it.

thats the outside of the book.

BUT, i do have a question. how would i put the pages together? can i got to a profesional place like kinkos for that? or do i have to do it myself? im not very skilled. how do i get it back in the book? thanks for any help!!
