1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Bun in the oven? on: September 01, 2006 11:15:40 AM
I was one of the early posters on here!  This is my first visit to craftster since the baby was born  Shocked.  I actually haven't been here since about the second trimester.  My baby is now four months old!  Let me tell you--it's great, fun, and wonderful, but you will not have time to craft for the first few months!  So, if you want to make stuff, I have to repeat the advice of the other posters--there is very little time in the beginning, so make stuff BEFORE the baby comes.

Also--they grow fast, so don't spend hours upon hours embroidering a cute onesie that they can wear for two weeks.  I made some that were cute and quick, but I also have a couple that were really complicated with huge designs that are still sitting half done.  Instead make things that are useful (bibs, burp cloths, a sling, diapers, blankets) and that can be used for a long time (quilts).

Congratulations to all the preggers!  It's going to change your life in the most amazing ways  Cheesy.
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: What would YOU pay?? on: April 18, 2006 08:52:42 AM
$20.00 is FAR too low for any of those.  They're great!  By the time you add in your time, effort, talent, and supplies, I would say you need to charge at least $50.00.  Honestly, I know that handmade leather purses of similar quality sell for much more, but maybe if you start out on the lower end, it will help you start to get some business.  Good luck!
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Odd little baby gift on: March 25, 2006 09:35:53 AM
Oh my god.  I LOVE it!  I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant with my first baby, and we live very far away from most people we are close with.  I would absolutely die laughing if someone made one of these.  And I honestly do think it would be a good thing for the kid--he/she would have a concrete thing to identify with the "phantom" person who is not around much.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Making a Tank ( pictures inside) on: February 26, 2006 11:13:35 AM
I don't know, but I LOVE these tank tops.  American Apparel has something very similar that I own in about 6 different colors.  If anyone has a pattern, I'd be excited to use it too.  Maybe I can just model something off of my American Apparel tank tops?  I could use them as a pattern.

Sammyb--

How exciting!  Not to jinx it, but we took the early pregnancy test too, and it came out positive, and I'm now 5 and a half months.  From what I understand, it is quite possible to get a false Negative, but not very common to get a false Positive.  I'm hoping for you--keep us posted!

EDIT:  I had to laugh at your "bajillion more tests," only because I did the EXACT same thing.  I took so many that 5 months later, I'm still finding the little instruction sheets laying around the bathroom.

8  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 12/28/05 - What Serious Problems Are You Having Since the Server Move? on: December 28, 2005 02:12:02 PM
1.  Very frequently, it just won't load.  Sometimes I can get the first page to come up, but then can't click anywhere from there--page can't be found type of thing.
2.  I haven't noticed a particular time of day that it happens.
3.  Palo Alto, CA (San Francisco Bay Area)
4.  Internet Explorer
5.  PC--Windows XP

But I still love craftster and keep trying to get on!

Not only is this gorgeous, but I bet it would look really flattering on.  Any chance of seeing it on a real person?  Also, I have to second the other posters who said they would like to see more of your work.  I'm going to click through your previous posts after posting this.  I couldn't even begin to think about making anything like this, but I'm just so impressed.

Nice job.

rumrasin033003:

Congratulations!  How exciting!  I'm also pregnant, but I'm almost 5 months along.  Between first trimester exhaustion and a crazy work schedule, I haven't gotten much crafting done, but now that I have more energy and the semester's done (I teach), I'm itching to get started.  I remember reading on here in the summer that some people who were pregnant were doing a pregnancy craftalong, where each month there was a different thing to make.  I thought it was a cool idea at the time, but I wasn't pregnant yet.  I know you have a lot to think about, but if you might want to do a preggers craftalong, let me know, and we/I can set it up.

And one more time, Congratulations!  Is this your first pregnancy?  It is for me.  In the past week I've really started to feel the baby move a lot, and it's one of the most exciting things--you'll love it.
