36  I do believe in fairies! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by AWynkoop on: October 09, 2005 07:16:21 AM
When the "El Cheapo Collage" challenge was announced I was inspired to try my hand at collage and made this box for my daughter to keep some of her art things in (pens, pencils, sharpeners, little scraps of "art" that she can't seem to part with.) She loves all things fairy related so it was easy to pick a subject.   Since the box is too small to meet the 12" x 12" requirement for the craft challenge, I thought I would just post on this board instead. Hope ya'll like it as much as she does! If you look closely at the house you can see a little girl in the window.

here is the hidden door to the fairy's home.

thanks for looking!

37  Re: interweave's corset pullover? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by AWynkoop on: October 01, 2005 12:07:08 PM
After a month of trying I finally got the hang of this pattern and finished the front!  (Happy Happy Joy Joy!) The back is now half finished as well! My dear sweet husband also promised to take me out for celebration dinner when this beauty is all finished! (he gets extra brownie points for that!) so with no further ado...

38  bell handle cable handbag in Knitting: Completed Projects by AWynkoop on: September 25, 2005 09:47:55 AM
Knit purses and clutches are my newest obsession and here is my favorite...

This bag started as a basic brown cable clutch, and as I was knitting I was also watching Knitty Gritty on diy network. The episode was about changing the look of knitted things by holding two strands of yarn together. Since I had never knit w/ 2 strands I thought I would give it a try, and this was the result.

I have been really inspired by all the great things people are making! Thanks to all!

39  my 9 yo wants to be a designer in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by AWynkoop on: September 18, 2005 10:27:33 AM
Grin My 9yo daughter has recently decided she wants to be a clothing designer.   She is determined to make her own halloween costume and wants it to look like this

Any ideas where to start...Maybe a good "learn to sew" book for kids?
We have looked for patterns online but she really has her heart set on this one.
She is homeschooled, so this is also going to be one of her "electives" in school.

Any help would be great!

they make such pretty little vases after you peel the plastic skrink wrap off!
