I know that there are probably loads of people who have knitted Kate the Cat from Knitty.com http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTkate.html But i thought i would share with you my own little Kate! I hope that you like her as much as i do! And sorry about the photo quality, i brought her into work to show everyone and photographed her with my mobile phone.
I am about 10 cm into the short sleeve version of this dress and I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me on this project. I have decided to omit the cable design on the front (though i love knitting cables) and want this to be more retro and have opted for a rib pattern the whole way up. I am also knitting it in black rather than grey. I hope to wear the finished dress with black tights and boots.
Let me know if anyone else wants to get involved as i would love to have you on board!
I have just bought the Rowan "Country Escape" magazine and i was wondering if anyone was interested in knitting "Aoife" on page 5. It is a wonderful cardigan with a "scarf" collar!! Lovely for cold, grey British days! (and Irish ones for that matter - when i fly home to Ireland for Christmas)
Due to the cost of the yarn, i will be substituting it with something like Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. I am thinking in grass green. Anyway, please let me know if anyone is on board for this one as i am very excited!!
I have been trying to find a pattern for a big knit / chunky shrug or bolero jacket. It needs to be big knit / chunky so that i can knit it quickly (got a deadline as it is a present).
Any suggestions on either where to buy a pattern, or if you have a pattern to share or how i can easily knit my own. I am a very experienced knitter, and I could usually figure it out, but the problem is, i just don't have time for experimentation and i can't find a pattern for something like this anywhere!!!
My friend doesn't have any money for Christmas this year and i have suggested that she can get crafty and make some presents.
She doesn't consider herself to be really patient and doesn't have much experience making things. So any suggestions on quick and easy, but professional crafty stuff she could make would be much appreciated
Therefore, as they have to be quick, things like knitting are out ( as i am not sure she would finish that), as is sewing (as she doesn't have a sewing machine).
I suggested PAINTING GLASS, well, wine glasses actually, and then she can put tea-light candles in them to give to family and friends. So, if anyone out there can think of anything else let me know, as it would make her very happy
