Oh wow!  That is seriously gorgeous!

I really want to attempt a corset but I am really nervous about screwing it up.

Thanks, tcmatteson!  I still think they are pretty and will make lovely jewelry.  lol

I'm not sure at all.  They don't feel brittle like I would expect shells to feel, but I am not sure.  How thick/durable can polished shells be?
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Identifying stones/beads on: June 28, 2010 11:25:08 AM
Hey All!  I went to the Gem and Jewelry show up here in MI and found some really amazing sales.  There were booths with 70% of Swarovski!  I picked up a few strands of beads and I'm not really sure what they are.  I was hoping that some gifted gemologists out there could help me.

This first one look like really low quality amethyst with inclusions.  They are polished and fairly solid little stones.  I'm not sure what they are though.

These next remind me of moonstones with their iridescent color and smooth surfaces.

These may just be polished stone or beads but I love them.  They are electric purple and have the same sheen that the previous ones do.

These look like tiger's eye but I know they aren't.

Finally, these look like jade or little skittles!  I have no idea on them

THANKS!
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Chainmail leaf necklace on: June 20, 2010 05:27:09 PM
I am so proud of this necklace!  It took me a lot of time to get the leaf exactly how I wanted it and the design went through a few phases before I figured out exactly how I wanted it to end up.

The chain is a 2 by 1 of two different sized rings and the leaf is a modified Japanese 12-in-1.  It was so hard getting them to stay all together!  They are anodized aluminum though so it's pretty soft and easy to manipulate.
6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: More zombie soap! on: October 02, 2009 05:10:09 AM
OMG!  I love the Umbrella Corp. soaps!  I am obsessed with the Resident Evil series and those are seriously cool.  Well done!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Jessica's May 2010 Medieval-Themed Wedding Stuff ***Updated with more PHOTOS!*** on: September 26, 2009 01:09:51 PM
I agree that favors are a must, even if it just something simple.  You could always get some of those tiny plastic picture frames and decorate them in the style of your wedding.  Or have the placecards be butterflies and have a little candy or something in them as a favor.

OMG, you look just like Alice from Resident Evil in that picture!  That is so cool.

Black Dahlia is pretty classic but I love the idea of messing with a traditionally "wholesome" outfit and scaring people.  I've actually gotten a lot of inspiration from the mass produced skanky costumes and then gone my own way with them.  They come out great and can be tailored to me so they look even better.

Oh my that is absolutely gorgeous.  I will have to keep you in mind for when I tie the knot.  I've been looking for an amazing corset design and that Cassandra corset is perfect.  Very very well done.

I vote Rosie or Mia.  I'm going through this same thing right now; being a poor college student sucks sometimes. Sad  Good Luck!
