I finished this pineapple lace skirt called "Walking after Midnight" in Doris Chan's Amazing Crochet Lace pattern book.  It's crocheted in Madil Eden yarn with an H hook.  It was such a fun and easy pattern and I am so happy with the results!  The best part...it twirls like a dream. 

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but I found a few other carved stamp posts in this section...

I've just gotten into carving my own stamps lately - catalyzed purely by letterboxing.  (Check out letterboxing.org if you haven't already)

I've been taking the bus to my yoga class each week and having to juggle my bag and my mat and all my other things, rather awkwardly between aisles of the bus and the whole walk home.  So after seeing bags to carry yoga mats, I decided to crochet my own.  I chose a brown acrylic yarn out of my stash to go with my tan colored mat and also because I thought it might withstand the hardships of travel better than some of my other yarns.  

So here it is on the floor:  It has a cross-strap and drawstring closure at the top

I finished this one a few weeks ago but still haven't gotten a chance to wear it.  Not exactly sure where I'll wear it to either...but I've enjoyed waltzing around my house in my new tank top at least.

Hurray! I've been dying to try a 20's style cloche but it took a while to get the shape exactly right.  Black and white aren't really my colors, but the white was the stiffest yarn I had and after a few tries, I found the stiffer the hat, the better the shape. I added ribbon and a crochet flower because it needed a little something extra.  Now all I need is one of those cute flapper haircuts... Here are a few different views of my hat.  What do you think?

Dreaming of summer I guess...but I haven't been able to really work on any wintery projects even though it's still cold.  Instead I've been making summery tops like this halter.  I designed it using inspiration from a bunch of different crocheted tank tops I've seen - especially this beautiful one http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=67176.0 that I saw on craftster a while back.  The top part is basically a bikini top and then the bottom is a shell pattern in rounds.  Not much to it...and hopefully not too much longer until I can wear it.  Thanks for looking!

I finished my version of cupcake today.  I tested it out in a pink acrylic that I had lying around and the pattern went really well so I think I'll go back and make one a little fancier...sometime this spring, hopefully.

Here's my completed froufrou sweater.  I loved it ever since I first saw it posted (you should have seen my terrible attempt at recreating it without a pattern) and now I finally have one of my own.  I used a green wool blend but everything else I kept the same.  I'm still not sure if I put it together right but I don't see how else it could have been done.  The sleeves are still a little big - my sister suggested blocking it and seeing if everything fell more into place so maybe I'll try that.  Thanks for looking!

Hello talented crochet-ers!

My mom just bought her dream house on the ocean and I am just so happy for her and want to make a very special gift.  I'm envisioning crocheting her a beautiful afghan for her bed in her new house - alternating simple squares with something kind of elaborate (something that maybe reminds you of the ocean?)  This may be crazy and too specific but I thought if someone had any ideas, I could find you here.  So pretty please, if anyone has any patterns to send my way, I would really appreciate it.  THANKS!
